With the schedule we have this year I don't think anyone who knows anything about football expected us to go undefeated. 8-4 would be a great season but I still think we go 7-5 and beat SC. We lose to teams we probably should lose to and people want to fire everyone including the waterboy. geeeezzzz

He was completely uncovered. I about vomited when I saw the replay of that. How in the world did Simms not see him?

We played well for a half. Their depth and talent took over from there. This is a game that we couldn't win at full strength much less with all of our best players hurt. Our effort in the first half was admirable. That's something to build on. Matt Simms isn't very good; that's nothing surprising. We'll have to tough out another week before we get another game that we'll have a chance in.

I watched most of the game and UT looked pretty tough in the first half, as you did against us. So your front line players are competitive, but the depth is not there. It'll take a couple of recruiting classes to fix that. I think you'll find out if DD can get the job done by his next two classes.

I don't think we did. Look at the hand we're playing with now compared to the Cincy game. You saw an 8 or 9 win team that week. Now, we're left with a team that will be lucky to be 7-5.

Disagree. The Cincy game just showed a hint of this teams potential. We didn't count on getting snakebit as bad as we have. Our oline, our dline, our special teams have all shown marked improvement.

What completely blows my mind (and made me smile a little today) was that the gameplan today was perfect. If we had the players, that's how you beat LSU. The defense (other than letting corners play 10 yards off on 3rd & short) was very good till about late third when Jefferson was fresh and the D was tired. The offense had opportunities, just couldn't convert. Which was weird because last week the gameplan was bad.

I guess this is my postgame thread, but as someone who doesn't ever go to UT games (my second one in my life today) it was really depressing to see the stadium at the end of the game, and I get why the fanbase is so depressed/mad, etc. It's been 13 years since we won an SEC title, and you are asking fans to be more patient, and I get why some don't want to hear that. I don't like to hear it. But it's the truth. It's hard for fans to hear "Look, I know we haven't won anything of importance since Clinton was in office, but...give us till 2013." Yet that's what it looks like before we get to title type talent. The defensive backs are bad, the linebacking depth is atrocious, we have one defensive tackle who can play on better SEC teams, our defensive ends can't put pressure on the QB, our running backs aren't good, the o-line is all sophomores and a junior, and four of the top five receivers are underclassmen. We don't have the depth and that's not going to be possible till 2013.

2011 is a wash as I said earlier. 2012 is where we need to see 8-9 wins, and 2013 is title time. The question is how the fanbase/athletic department react if we only win 6 games this year and then 7 next year. I think Dooley deserves four years. This place was a dump when he took over. He needs more than two or three to fix it.

We'll certainly be deeper, and I think we'll be better at LB. But, it remains to be seen how good they can be.

Our D may not be of champ quality but the opposing D's will have major problems containing us. With a powerful offense and a strong D, we will be very much in the mix.

I agree that we played well for the first half.. I was proud of their fight in the first half.. hard to hang with that strength and speed
