Sure, but there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with coaches refusing to sign contracts that aren't guaranteed and grossly inflated. It's LITERALLY nice work if you can get it.
The issue and emphasis at UT HAS to be with the admin that has kept a revolving door of sub-par hires at many levels of the football program. I, personally, feel the admin, boosters, leadership.... call them "those in charge" = TIC..... are no longer focused on having a competitive program.
We need honest answers from TIC. If they're at a place where they feel the University of Tennessee should be satisfied with an also ran SEC football program, then we truly can vote with our support and loyalty.
Coaches taking good contracts haven't created the crap we endure at UT, TIC hiring, buying out, not buying out, and essentially mismanaging the football program created this.
We need to look at issues well beyond coaching.
When will those answers be forthcoming to us rank and file fans, I wonder?
