As played just as a song there is no woo. In a football game, Rocky Top needs a woo, because that's what grates on opponents like nothing else.

A man that I love and respect very much claims to have invented the woo. Apparently he and his wife were in Knoxville the weekend of a big game, and they were shopping at West Town Mall the Friday afternoon before. Part of the POTSB was playing in the mall that day, and a camera crew from either the university or a tv station was there. They were walking by the camera as the band was playing Rocky Top, and he “wooed” in front of the camera. Soon after, the woo took off and became a thing.

He claims it was because of him that the woo is now here to stay.

This man is my pastor, incidentally.

I know where and when the Woo started, and why. This isn't it.

I look forward to the day the truth can come out, but it will require some people to pass away first. Those of us who know can't tell out of respect for the people the story would hurt.

I’ll never stop the woo. It might not be in the official version, but it’s a part of Neyland tradition at this point.

The Vol twitter needs to be smarter than that. There will be fights started over the woo in the stadium......needs to be more clear with what they tweet lol

Why does this fan base go out of their way to find something to COMPLAIN about? People like it and do it but if you don't like in the stadium easy fix, DON'T DO IT.... problem solved and you can quit this stupid argument I wasn't a fan of a certain president but I kept my opinion to myself.
