It's Les Miles

We could do a hell of a lot worse than Miles. Not my first choice, but I'd have no problems with him coming to Knoxville.

He didnt build the LSU program. Saban did. He maintained it for a while in spite off foolhardy decisions with click management. Eventually though it became obvious, he was a bozo, and the program was being run into the ground. He was like Butch Jones meets old Fulmer.

I'm not sure you can claim 8 years is maintaining a program. He obviously did some good things in Baton Rouge if you toss out the first 3 years to take Saban's players into account.

Beating Saban 3 times is more than we've beat him in the past 10 years...

I personally would not discredit any wins that Les Miles had, Obviously botch couldn't win with top 10 ten recruiting classes, so in this conference a win is a win..

With Miles being a former offensive linemen (like Fulmer) and having a career record 141-55 (very similar to Fulmer's 152-52), I could see this type of move happening.

Hope not. Guy got fired for not winning with Louisiana talent. Right now we are lacking in talent and this recruiting class is a bust.

What in the world are you talking about? The facts refute you.

Yes you can see he really fell off as his worst season was 8-5 in the freaking SEC West.

Hire him or Leach and lets get on with it!

:loco:

He has the second most wins all time at LSU, and better win percentage than the coach that has the most. He also has a better win percentage than Nick Saban at LSU.

Your argument is absurd.

Les Miles is the best coach LSU has ever had.

Um, they had Saban.

Les Miles would be a great hire I think. But is it reasonable to expect or even want Fulmer to force the issue of Martin as OC/HCIW? Do we want Fulmer starting out with meddling in coaching hires?

How much say does an AD typically have in choosing coordinators?

I’d take that record over ours all day , there is no other Alabama’s , that would be damn good to see every year imo

Les didn't have to build anything. It was already done for him.

Louisiana also has some pretty deep high school talent and is in close proximity to Texas and Mississippi.

He isn't going to walk into here and have the same kind of success right away (if ever).

in all likelihood Les gets the nod.

hopefully he'll find the grass will be greener on Rocky Top...

...just needs to stipulate no return to AstroTurf.

Go Vols!!!

1. We can't hire a current coach due to the buyout. We squandered too much money on Schiano's MOU and firing Currie.

2. Both Davenport and Fulmer said they wanted someone with head coaching experience in the SEC.

It's Miles (unless Cutcliffe is back in play), and Les totally sucks. Get ready to be right back here in three years.
Here you are again hating on Tennessee .Did you notice nobody wants to here your crap. You are the friend that who needs enemies. Go Away, leave Vol Nation, being a fan,the state. You are a cancer to us all.

Um, they had Saban.

And Miles has a better win percentage AT LSU than Saban did.

He also has 2 conference titles to Saban's one at that school. And equal amount of National titles.

I'm not debating that Saban is the better coach, I'm just saying looking solely at their LSU careers... Miles gets the nod.

Not LSU Miles VS Bama Saban.

Of his last 6 SEC games he lost 4, not just to Bama, but to Auburn, and got pounded by Ole Miss and Arkansas. He couldn't recruit a decent QB nor develop the ones he had, he just tried to claim how great they were. His offenses sucked, and would have worse if he didn't have hosses like Fournette. But teams learned to load the box against him, and Miles was too stupid to do anything other than run right into the teeth of it, over and over. My LSU buddies around me here were so ready for him to be gone. He is not what we need to re-imagine our offense.

So by that logic any new coach gets three years before you pass judgement on them?

You aren't taking into account what Saban took over at LSU vs what Miles did. I mean come on.

We didn't want the guy who saw a molester. Now we're going to end up with Lester.

Currie went to the beach. He tried to save face by hiring Mike Leach.

Fulmer sabotaged the deal. His Judas Brutus ways are real.

The House of Haslam is now back in charge. Tennessee's reputation has been permanently marred.

The future on RockyTop doesn't look bright. Tee's career will be over if he doesn't get this right.

Our favorite things sometimes wither and die. Tennessee football's time grows nigh.

If we had only hired Blackburn we would not be here. This whole ordeal has sold a lot of beer.

The Titans, the Predators, and even the Tigers are good. It will take all three to stand where the Vols once stood.

Congratulations to Fulmer for avenging his firing. One day in hell he will be perspiring.

I can like Les Miles without wanting him to be our new coach. My best guess is that "old School" Phil will hire him.

Who the hell do you think drove his firing home ? It was the Haslams. Now you think he is in bed with them?
