Lets play along with your game.

Seeing Dormady in such a big setting even I'm garbage time would be nice. I want to see Young as well and anyone who has been banged up and rusted get some PT.

Let's make sure we're beating Northwestern first. On the off chance that we actually lose, it's not going to be because they're a better team because they're not, it's gonna be because we didn't take them seriously.

This, indeed! Threads like this remind me of the arrogance that Miami demonstrated in the 1986 Sugar Bowl. Our inspired team took them down hard!

I think OP means will be getting blown out by 3rd Q, and Butch will throw in the the towel.

Give us some Dormady and some John Kelly.

Who else do you guys want to see?

Maybe i'm superstitious but let's remember this team we're playing is ranked number 12 in the country. I just don't think we are in the position to be dismissing anyone much less a team that is ranked much higher than we are.

I agree that we have the better team talent wise. However they have plenty of time to see how most everyone across the nation have them as 8 point underdog even though they are ranked 10 or 11 spots higher than we are at this time.

That has a way of motivating certain teams to play over their heads. I certainly hope we do have the opportunity to play 2nd teamers and there is a good portion of me that believes it will happen. I just don't want to hear all the talkers on TV telling everyone who will listen that we overlooked the Purple Vandy.

If it gets to that point, whoever Butch decides deserves it.

I will refraim from participating in veiled trash talking about Northwestern. I will also avoid saying it is akin to getting into a battle of wits with an unarmed person. I won't talk about how they lost to Iowa 40-10. Nor will I make snide comments about their "rock".

However, I should compliment them on beating mighty Ball State 24-19. Perhaps by Jan 1, I will control my trembling at the mention of Evanston, IL., wherever that is.

I'm sure they would compliment us for beating mighty (3-9) USC Jr. 27-24 in a game we could have very easily lost. They did beat Stanford which is better than any team we beat. Just saying............

I have confidence in Butch's ability to get this team ready to play hard and don't doubt that these players will be hungry to play the #12 team.

I dont think its gonna be a total blow out like some believe. We will win but not huge. I doubt we see many backups play. JMO

The same SC that gave the #1 Clemson all they could handle. The close win against SC isnt even comparable to their Ball St win.

Okay, the only teams Tennessee "blew out" this year were bowling green (solid MAC team) Kentucky (dog **** SEC team), Vandy (extremely mediocre SEC team) and western Carolina (as any top 25 team should).

North Texas (1-11 non power 5 team) held them to 24 points, not a "blowout" per se, especially considering who they played, and barely beat USCe....

What makes you think you're gonna blow out a top 15 team in the country so badly you can coast with second stringers?

And don't give me the Iowa and Michigan rebuttal. Iowa is a top 5 team in the entire country. Michigan only scored 21 points on offense.

It's gonna be hilarious coming back to these boards on New Year's Day if northwestern wins, which they very well could

Northwestern beat Duke, who beat Boston college, who beat NIU, who beat Toledo, who beat Arkansas, who bea ole miss, who beat Alabama.

Is NU better than Bama? No. The transitive property means NOTHING in CFB.

Well if you don't want to hear or see it I wouldn't recommend coming to a Tennessee message board? I figured a smart Northwestern guy like yourself could figure that out. Kick rocks.
