Any other school would allow a DC that is going into a playoff to finish that off. Not sure what the big issue is here. Tennessee fans better just be glad he is interested in coming to this dumpster fire at all.

1000000% agree... let’s handcuff the new coach, then Phil can monitor practices and just get in his shorts. This guy will never take the job if the tea leaves are this easy to read.

I said it in another thread but the only thing left is for Phil to self-appoint himself as coach. I think he is stringing this out so that is the only thing left.

Three of our so called targets are in this boat. Venables, Tucker, and Pruitt. My guess is that all three would request to coach their team through the playoffs. They have worked to get their team to this point and deserve the right to see it through. Go on and name him HC and let him work on his staff.

I do begrudge him that. If Pruitt wants the job, he should take it and report to work immediately to try to salvage this recruiting class, especially with early signing fast approaching. Trying to help what will become his biggest rival win another championship is NOT in UT's interest. Not reporting to work until potentially after Jan 8th is not in UT's best interest. David Cutcliffe left for Ole Miss before a NC game on the line, but UT doesn't warrant the same respect from its potential coach? A man cannot serve two masters.

I'm hoping that this is all just a big mistake and once Phil replaces the battery in his hearing aid he will figure out that Vol Nation has been screaming for the pIREit not the pROOit.

If a new coach wants Tee Martin that is up to Him. No way should Fulmer have anything to do with it. Tee should stay at USC unless our coach wants to talk to Him. Fulmer and fans need to stay out of it.

Believe that the Krystal on the strip has been closed for some time now...lady who owned it gave up during the reconstruction due to lost biz.

The Cookout on the Strip is open. Cookout>>>Krystal

He has 4 (I assume a director of player development gets one) including one from his one year at FSU. The early signing period changes things, I think. The fact that Alabama is an annual opponent also matters. You just can't wear the Tennessee and Alabama hats at the same time.

Right on the money. If you're going to target playoff-caliber coaches you better be prepared for them to stick around and coach their teams.
