I went to Israel during 2016 and was in the Middle East for four years as a marine.
Israeli civilians are always nervous, based on what @rekinhavoc said. They were nervous and on edge also when I was at Tel Aviv.

What is the point? I'm not doubting that people are afraid of terrorism. I'm saying that's a tiny consideration in the 80 year conflict

Israelis are afraid of terrorism, yes. After all, Hamas has killed 2,000 Israelis in their existence....but Israel has killed 100k Palestinians in less than 2 years. Before that, people were afraid that their kids who are out may never come home, because IDF shooting kids is regular occurrence. Or maybe they'll catch a drone bomb, or a rocket that misses its target. That's a fairly regular occurrence. Or maybe illegal settlers are moving in on your property and framing you for terrorism while taking your life.

Y'all believe that Israel is the only party with a right to defend itself.

Partly true. Hamas attacked Israel. So I believe Israel may defend themselves by declaring war on Hamas.

Israel has invaded Gaza as part of that war. Hamas may now defend Gaza. (Which they are doing, poorly.)

I don’t blame Hamas for fighting to defend their homes any more than I blame the old, dead confederates who fought to defend theirs. In fact, I wish Hamas the all the same results as was met by the Confederacy.

IMO if the world really cared about the people of Gaza, they’d be demanding that Hamas returned the hostages and surrendered.

That’s the one thing we all agree on, everyone condemned Hamas. The worst thing that could happen for those people is Hamas staying in power after the war.

Saying the same thing like 20x a week, which you do often, is indeed spamming. That doesn't mean I'm glad your friend is dead or whatever you tell yourself (and I don't think I knew you knew her when I said that, and certainly didn't know it was a friend until now)

Yes, I agree, you switch personalities on me every few weeks or months, and I don't much care for the emotional rollercoaster

Was just talking about this with a friend the other day. No western media seems to have been talking about it or that the IDF called up over 50k reservists. (maybe I missed it)
They should have military control of Gaza city pretty soon

I don’t see anyway this doesn’t result in many more deaths and the expelling of gazans just for Hamas to still not be eradicated
