ISIS Takes Control of Mosul

ISIS is a direct consequence of the power vacuum created by the invasion. What did we expect when that huge mistake pitted Sunni vs Shiite? Plus the Kurds?

The notion that it's Obama's fault because we didn't leave 10k troops in Baghdad, to be shot at and ied'd every few days is flat out idiotic.

This mess is Bush's fault. It is undeniable.

Items entering a space does not create a "vacuum". Items leaving a space does. I am guessing you failed high school science?

Revisionist progressive history will regard the entire disaster to be entirely Bush's fault. And that is the correct conclusion.

I appreciate that Republicans want to find some fault with someone other than their last president.

No one is buying it.

Maybe she can get by with that. But in an ideal world with a zealous press, she, and all candidates, would be forced to explain what she learned about how to handle unreliable intelligence, which seems to be an American constant.

Agree 100 pct. All candidates should explain what higher standard they would require.

How about?

Hillary who was in the Senate is the one who really has to answer that question. She will also have to answer why as SOS we supported the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, why did Libya collapse after we helped take out Gaddafi, why the indecision and inaction in Syria and so on.

I know you must have missed this question or you would have addressed it.

But this nation building crap in the ME has failed over and over and over and over. And it always leaves everyone worse off than if we had left well enough alone.

That's because we aren't letting them have a vested interest in the rebuilding. Plus, it's a national pride issue.

WWII for example. Germany and Japan surrendered, but they never really were defeated if that makes sense. But in turn, they rebuilt their countries. Sure they had American help, but by and large the people themselves took pride in their nations and were responsible for rebuilding in the aftermath.

However, we never got the Iraqis involved in the rebuilding. Which was the critical turning point of the entire campaign that we missed and one I continue to stand by. Had we gotten the Iraqis to have a vested interest in the rebuilding and their future it probably would have turned out far differently than what we saw.

Sad that we have forgotten the lessons of yesteryear in how to "nation build."

Anyone of them can and do play this card. When are politicians going to be held accountable for such?

As long as politicians are going to be allowed immunity, can't they continue to say(lie) anything they want?

Where is the line drawn between outright lies and the excuse of bad intel?

Besides Bills cigarcapades..

Megan Kelly and her guests say this is all Obama's fault. And that comes directly from such credible sources as Bush administration officials.

I can't believe they have the gall to blame anyone other than themselves. It's mind boggling.

You know Obama has been in office for over 6 years.. Right?

Thankfully the GOP Congress has passed the resolution allowing use of force against ISIS.

Oh, wait .....

Well, at least the GOP Congress hasn't refused to act on it for three months ....

Oh, wait .....

Well, at least the GOP hasn't refused to pass a resolution authorizing force against ISIS, but then complains there's not enough force being used against ISIS.

Oh, wait.

There are essentially three wars being waged in Syria: one between the government and the rebels, another between Iran and Saudi Arabia, and yet another between America and Russia. It is this third, neo-Cold War battle that made U.S. foreign policy makers decide to take the risk of arming Islamist rebels in Syria, because Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, is a key Russian ally.

Of course. That's what this is about.

Ask the author of the dopey article you linked to.

Do you seriously believe the U.S. helped form ISIL? Or are you just trolling?

I don't think the US intentionality created isis but I'm sure we trained some of those sh*theads during Libya and second Iraq war. Bottom line is you can't trust any of them, they all have there own personal agenda there going to pursue after they take out the common enemy that we helped train them to fight.

Obama blames the rise of ISIS on Bush and climate change. I guess Barry underestimated climate change too.

What a dumbass.
