ISIS Takes Control of Mosul

I hear you but we can clearly do more both militarily and diplomatically without putting boots on the ground.

I don't think ISIS has a lot of friends and this is one time where we probably could work with other Arab ME countries and somewhere like Turkey to craft a larger, coherent strategy.

I would actually love to see us do that, makes diplomatic moves to Turkey, Saudi, hell even Iran, offering to cooperate with them and the Iraqis on making something happen. But what we have to be sure of is that this other third party is the one actually leading the action and we are providing back-up, not something we have done lately. I would feel much better if we had done anything over the last 2 decades to that actually went along with it.

thanks for actually providing a good answer :hi:

I'm not against drone strikes at all. I feel that's the next step. Hit em in the mouth a couple times.

They can "hate Americans" all they want. You kill innocent people - especially with the cruelty they've shown - and you face consequences.

It will eventually stop itself; it's not a sustainable movement.

Could be a lot of innocent victims in the short-term, though.

The only thing that will stop it will be it meeting like force. And right now, there is nobody that can challenge ISIS for control over that region.

1) Invent time machine.

2) Go back and tell 300 elderly Floridians who wanted to vote for Gore how not to accidentally vote for Buchanan.

Problem solved.

If we had a time machine the first course of action would be convince your parents to use protection.

The best part of you dripped down your moms leg.

Bush certainly deserves blame. Obama turned a **** sandwich into a **** sandwich covered in cat piss.

Horrible leadership for too long.

Prob is people like LG can't take off partisan hat and only point fingers.

Well, point fingers and eat yourself into obesity.

It think our Foreign Policy ought to be like being the world's Dad. If you behave we'll leave you alone or might even play ball with you and buy you an ice cream cone. We'll teach you how to be a good, hard working country.

You start to misbehave and you get the belt. You keep it up and it's off to military school. Your allowance will be cut off too.

As grand said, they are going to hate us anyway, might as well go ahead and put a stop to their shenanigans.

Have you seen some assessments that argue this? I know they started with relatively small numbers but they've grown and their resources have expanded massively as they've gobbled up assets.
