ISIS Takes Control of Mosul

People from the Bush administration criticizing the handling of Iraq by the next administration is like Dooley criticizing Butch for how he handles Florida.

Thats like saying everything thats happened in Iraq since the Shah was ousted is the fault of the administration at that time. Ridiculous!

This ISIS thing is so bungled its indefensible. There has never been a better setup to get all of the forces of evil in one place at the same time. Drawing them from everywhere like flies, they can't resist the lure of murder, rape and cutting off heads! Now that we have them all out of their holes the correct action is a no brainer for everyone but the white house.

While I gave you a like for the second paragraph (rare event) I am confused by the first paragraph. When did Iraq have a Shah?

There are multiple scenarios that can happen if we don't act. We could see Isis conquering all of Iraq, Iran responding, and possibly coming out with an Iranian superstate. We could see Isis going into the more moderate ME states like Jordan or Saudi Arabia who won't have the means to stop them once all of Iraq's resources are in Isis' control.

You and I think alike.

Iran enters Iraqi fight for key oil refinery, US officials say | Fox News

Iran has entered the fight to retake a major Iraqi oil refinery from Islamic State militants, contributing small numbers of troops, including some operating artillery and other heavy weapons in support of advancing Iraqi ground forces, U.S. defense officials said Friday.

Two U.S. defense officials said Iranian forces have taken a significant offensive role in the Beiji operation in recent days, in conjunction with Iraqi Shiite militia. The officials were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

Solution?

More troops to die, trying to salvage the disaster Bush created? Why? So that when we quasi beat back some undefined threat, with another thousand dead and 300 billion down the drain, we leave and some other group springs up?

It's a giant game of whack a mole. We can never "win."

You sure have changed your tune over the past few months.

Let the muslim sects kill each other. Let the oil rich monarchs raise and fund their on armies to defend their kingdoms. The U.S.doesn't need to get involved in a civil war. :nono: :loco:

Iraq wasn't a secret when Obama ran. Bush was president 7 years ago. We won World Wars quicker. Iraq collapse is on Obama. Maybe next time the Dems won't elect a guy with zero experience.

Is there a problem with our troops being in Korea?

i am sorry which of the Republican candidates had been president or VP before?

Multiple groups fighting ISIS along with coalition airstrikes and their territory keeps expanding?

You do the math..

hmm so Assad's backing of extremist religious terrorist/rebel groups has nothing to do with it? or the constant support from any of the neighboring countries? or the global support from other like-minded crazies. or the Chechens on "vacation". or the fact that our air strikes are extremely limited and can only legally act when we are called for. Not naive to think we are only operating when called in, but we still have our hands tied. or 6000 troops surrendering to 150, yeah its because of the US that ISIS is still around. :eyeroll:

Just because the U.S. isn't fighting on the ground against ISIS doesn't mean that it is siding with it. Any more than the fact that the U.S. isn't fighting Russia in Ukraine doesn't mean it wants Kyiv to lose.

On the ground? That's exactly where we will be with in time!

How does a group of renegades overtake a country like Iraq without the support of major nations?

IF the western powers wanted it to stop, it'd be over in a week or two with limited casualties.

If they are such a threat to the Middle East and our homefront, like our media portrays, then why are we sitting idly by as they SUPPOSEDLY run amok between SYRIA and IRAN?
