Is this Phil saying Pruitt will be back?

My Nostradamic prediction : We get blown out by FLA. with HB at qb. That sets us JG to return for A&M and Vandy. Plays decent and beats Vandy.
JP welcomes JG back next year as starter until HB gains more experience.

I wait with breathless anticipation for the excuses next year.

After we lose to Bowling Green next year: "Well, we are still trying to recover from 2020. You all know our players didn't get in all the reps they needed last year. Also, while Jarrett didn't have his best game, I felt he still gave us the best opportunity to win. Aight? Next question?"

It's cool. I'll just pick up a hobby I can enjoy on Saturday in place of watching UT football because I'm beyond tired of the constant losing and how much we pay yo lose. Thinking about picking up something like customizing sneakers. People love customs. P

It's what we do. We wait around one year too long before making a move and set ourselves further behind for the next coach.

when he says big picture.. he's probably speaking more in terms of financially here. Fulmer while making some questionable decisions isn't stupid... he knows the titanic is taking on water but now might not be the right time jump ship (even though we fans are ready) due to finances. I don't know just speculating.

I think if Pruitt starts next year doesn't his buyout go down? Maybe they are already speaking to Freeze or others behind the scenes even....who knows

On Vol Calls, Phillip Fulmer discussed that he has the responsibility to lead the football program and look it over, evaluate it and the progress that is or is not being made. Fulmer says he has to really look at it from a big picture, realistically and not emotionally.

Phillip Fulmer details how he will evaluate Vols’ football ‘from a big picture, realistically, not emotionally’
Keep in mind, Phil-o-Potamus was the one who gave Beldar an UNNECESSARY extension and raise before the %@#&%@! season even started.....🤬🤬🤬

Shame of Fulmer for throwing Majors under the bus like that. No surprise though. What an insult. Majors was a seasoned head coach and the 2 situations are not close to being the same.

Had Majors stayed at the helm through the early 2000s with the roster Phil had, Vols would've won a couple of more titles. At least 2 or 3 more SEC titles.

The comparison Fulmer should have made to the job Pruitt is doing is the last few seasons while Fulmer was head coach, not Majors' early seasons......

When we win 4 games next season with this clown show, will it be logic or emotion? At what point does it become stupidity and corruption? Phil Fulmer is ruining his legacy. He should go.

I'm glad Phil doesn't get emotional. Neither does the head coach, nor ball team. In fact, they coach and play with zero emotion.

Because it is obvious they are keeping this idiot at least one more year and prob two more years, we will be so far removed from anything resembling a football program, it won't matter anymore. It's on the brink of not mattering now but if they did something out of the box for once like going after HF, it's salvageable. After one or two more years, I really don't think it will be.

DEBBIE DOWNER ALERT☝️

If he were actually looking at it from a big picture perspective, he wouldn't have given Pruitt an extension and raise in the middle of an economic short fall due to pandemic.

If he were actually looking at it from a big picture perspective, he wouldn't have fluffed his own nest and accepted an extension and raise in the middle of an economic shortfall and then asked all of Pruitts staff to take a pay cut.

Fulmer is as FOS as ever and he is going to finish the job he started in 2008 in running this program completely into the ground.

I'm actually happy that all of you get your panties bunched up when someone associated with the program says something completely predictable, and frankly, perfectly reasonable. It's become comical... bunch of candy-asses.

...this is reaching the point where only an Urban Meyer can salvage the program within 2-4 seasons.

His buyout will only go down 60% of $4.2 million ($2,520,000). We will spend more than that buying out the assistant coaches to overhaul the staff this year, assuming Pruitt stays. Then there's the question of how many more programs will be coach shopping next year and how much is that going to drive the price up for anyone worth hiring? If we don't replace Pruitt this year, Fulmer has raised the white flag and signaled that UTK is not interested in being competitive in college football for the foreseeable future unless they can somehow luck into it without paying for it.

Fulmer is notoriously loyal, he wont fire Pruitt until he absolutely has to and may get fired along side him because he wont pull the plug.

and we have to remember he HAS to say Pruitt is our guy. It's part of the job when in public anyways
