Is this Phil saying Pruitt will be back?

We lived through those early Majors years which were equally bad with Fulmer as OC. Our problem is that we are perpetually rebuilding and never get to a position of stability with a solid foundation. Before you realize it, a decade of futility extends into the second decade with historical records of failure. A program has to have hope in order to endure. Two years from now we will be looking back and hearing the same ol worn out excuses.

You are what your record says you are, Phil.
"just the fact that our student-athletes have had the opportunity to compete and play games this season is a victory in itself."
If this quote doesn't sound like Butch, nothing does. Champions of being able to play games. You do not hear this kind of talk from teams that have actually played good ball this year. And there are several teams playing good ball this year. Teams that are actually competing and not losing by double digits every game. I am over it. With our OL and defense, we should be competitive each and every week. No more excuses!

Pruitt survived losing to the blue hose in year two, he'll be here next year no matter what happens this season.

I swear (not really swear but you know) if Pruitt and Tennessee wins 6 games next year and folks come on here pumping sunshine and saying Pruitt is freakin awesome.......he’s got Tennessee to twice as good as they were last year..............I’m going to have a literal aneurism!

Seriously buckle up........cause if he’s back next year......this will happen.

6 or 7 isn’t good. 2 or 3 wins this year would still be much his fault.........6 will seem good to “some” only because of the SUCK he has done this year.

Would you keep Pruitt another season if it led to both he and Fulmer being fired in 2021? I probably would. Regardless of the timing, this horse and pony show is a sinking ship. Recruiting will plunge which will only add to their demise. Lack of accountability is the main problem with this program.

The question shouldn’t be will he back next year, he was always going to be back regardless of the outcome of this season. The question should be what does he have to do next year to be back in 2022? For me anything less than 9 wins in year 4 would be a fireable offense. Unfortunately I think that 7-5 next year would be good enough.

I also will add this. If Fulmer is hell bent on another year with Pruitt (and it sure seems that way), then Fulmer’s job HAS to be firmly tied to Pruitt. If Pruitt fails as miserably next fall as he has this season (and I fully expect that he will), Phil needs to be shown the door at exactly the same time as Pruitt.

It is compounded even more if Freeze lands at another SEC school before 2021.

Fulmer just doubled down and put both feet firmly in a steaming, smelling pile of elephant manure.

Talk about Majors........Majors Tennessee teams improved each of his first 3 years.

Majors Tennessee teams were also only beaten twice by 20 or more points in his first 3 years.

Pruitt almost has as many blowout losses as he does wins.

There is no comparison.......and Majors certainly wasn’t coaching the lights out....but dang if Phill thinks this is like “that”......I’m sry Phill.......it’s not even close.

If Phil Fulmer is all for Tennessee , then Phil Fulmer needs to fire 🔥 Jeremy Pruitt .
If not then Phil Fulmer is only about Phil Fulmer. But his next ending at UT is going to destroy whatever legacy he built for himself. So he has one choice, Fire Pruitt and hire a coach that knows how to win . Pruitt sucks

Well, you never know. Maybe we'll shock the world in the last few games and run the table next year and Disney will make a movie about it one day. Yeah.

I would go in there asking to buy the new 5* model but he would try to keep pushing the old worn out car that barely works on me. I would take this car on a trip but it would work for only the first half of the trip

You mean the model that looks great driving at 5 mph around the lot?

He just gave Pruitt a raise and extension. Did anyone actually expect him to dump on Pruitt? In all seriousness, Fulmer knows if he is forced to fire Pruitt mere months after extending his contract and buyout; he should go ahead and pack up his own office while he’s at it.

We've been told over and over again Pruitt is going to be back. Why are we acting surprised?
