Is The 1/6 Commission Coming?

Considering what a stupid and reckless notion encouraging "martial law" was, I tend to think that neither one of them understood what they were asking for. That truly is something that would happen in a banana republic.

In this case, it's probably better for them to be seen as ignorant, rather than having people believe that they truly wanted the President of the United States to order military intervention to overturn the outcome of his own defeat in a democratic system of elections. They are idiots either way.

.... but your explanation is a possibility, I guess.
Believe me. Wasnโ€™t a defense of position. Doesnโ€™t excuse the thoughts.

Because the Durham probe went so well for Republicans? LOL.

In my own view, the only subject that really merits a committee hearing in the sense of helping us avoid similar mistakes int he future would be how the Afghanistan withdrawal was handled.

Personally think its a huge mistake on the part of the GOP, given recent election results, to attempt yet again to relitigate 2020 or, worse to vindicate Trump. The base is already on board and all it does for the middle is reinforce the notion that the GOP is a mirror image of Trump and it is increasingly apparent that is not what you want.

But its your mistake to make. So have at it.

FBI Sued for suspending analyst because he espoused 'conspiratorial views' about Jan. 6

The FBI has been sued by a watchdog group for putting an employee on leave for allegedly supporting the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021.

Marcus Allen, an FBI staff operations specialist, claims he was wrongly placed on administrative leave from an internal FBI investigation in a lawsuit filed by him and Judicial Watch on Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina.

Allen claims he first learned he had his security clearance suspended for espousing "conspiratorial views" and "promot[ing] unreliable information" about the riot via a letter dated Jan. 10, 2022.

Allen is a Marine veteran and 2019 FBI Charlotte Field Office employee of the year, according to the lawsuit. He was placed on administrative leave without pay in a Feb. 17 letter, the lawsuit alleges. He claims he complied with an interview request in May but has not heard from the bureau since.

Despite the claims against him by the FBI, Allen asserts that he does not and has never supported the Capitol riot. He also says the bureau never provided any evidence for the claims against him.

The plaintiffs are suing the FBI for violations of Allen's First and Fifth Amendment rights, alleging the FBI attempted to regulate his speech by punishing certain viewpoints and for being vague in its reasoning to take away his job.

I don't know if anyone really GAS. I wish everybody would just shut up about him and let him disappear up his own butt hole.

I agree, but he will not disappear, not quietly. He will be around even if under house arrest, jailed or freed of all sins.

Going to be amusing watching the dumba$$ lose the Republican primary to DeSantis, then turn around and run as an Independent and give the election to the Democrats.

'What doesn't kill me makes me stronger': Trump DEFIANTLY slaps down Jan. 6 committee criminal referral following never-before-seen damning testimony by Hope Hicks

Former President Donald Trump defiantly slapped down the January 6 House select committee's decision to make criminal referrals to the Department of Justice, following Monday's never-before-seen damning testimony from ex-aide Hope Hicks.
'These folks don't get it that when they come after me, people who love freedom rally around me. It strengthens me. What doesnโ€™t kill me makes me stronger,' Trump said Monday evening on Truth Social, labeling the post in all caps: 'STATEMENT ON JAN 6 COMMITTEE REFERRAL.'

Trump, who already announced his 2024 White House bid, hit back Monday night, suggesting the move was politically motivated.

'The people understand that the Democratic Bureau of Investigation, the DBI, are out to keep me from running for president because they know I'll win and that this whole business of prosecuting me is just like impeachment was - a partisan attempt to sideline me and the Republican Party,' he said.
