You're delusional.

So you're telling me, guys who have done this for YEARS can't get a few players to line up right because it's hard? I've seen grade school teachers get 5 year olds to line up better than these coaches. You want to act like this is just kind of difficult thing to do.

Sure there are probably some things that comes to coaching that might be difficult, but basic things such as were to line up probably isn't the most difficult thing to teach. But sure, I'm delusional

Still waiting to see what sidelines you are coaching on since you've been out here acting like its easy since game 1.....

I have never ever acted like it’s easy. You have an opinion, and I have an opinion, there different and some can’t handle a simple difference of opinion......looks like that someone may be you today.

You can hope all you want, and I hope your hope turns into reality. But what I have seen hasn’t been good. From game 1 to now I have seen a team unprepared, undisciplined, unmotivated, look lost, and I have seen coaching indecision........

From game 1 in year 2 most of that (see above) shouldn’t happen or at least keep happening.

Every top tier coach has had a bad lost it’s parts of life.. He’s in his second year and recruiting like a mad man . Give him at least 1 more year to display some eye candy

As far as the coach is concerned. He is a grown man who makes millions......I’ll keep knocking him until I see much improvement. I’m sorry if my negativity bothers you guys; however I’m just real, I say what I see, I complain because I care and I joke because there’s nothing to be ecstatic about.

Once Tennessee beats S.C. (if that happens) I’ll change my tune. Until then I wouldn’t look for it to happen.

I totally understand what you are saying. But for me I don’t even need to see “eye candy”. I just want to see the team improving. I want to see the look like a team that has watched film, be disciplined, be motivated, and play up to their limited abilities (he has t got “his” players but the ones he has, have something.

Being negative is one thing. But basically saying you can do just as good of job is pretty dumb. Once again, what sidelines are you coaching on?

Lol

Now your just lying.

I have never ever said, nor have I implied I could do better. In fact on 3 occasions (with the how would do type threads) I started all three by saying “I would get fired” (then stated whatever I would try).

It’s cool to come at me if you want. However when answering you I have been totally honest, you can be too.

You don’t like my negativity (or maybe something else...) and that’s fine. You be you and I’ll be me.

Short answer NO

He couldn’t have his team motivated for game 1.....seriously?
His team has lined up wrong, looked seriously lost at times and has really......really been undisciplined all season.

If he can get this team to beat S.C., UAB, Vandy and one other team.......I’d give him more time (this roster is good enough to do this with proper coaching).

But he can’t and I’ll keep complaining

Totally doesn't imply that you think you could do such an easy job.... What am I thinking?

Not sure you understand what imply means, I guess.

Tennessee was not motivated on game one......to me they just weren’t.

I feel a good coach should certainly have their team motivated in that scenario......truthfully you would think it would just happen because it’s the first freakin game.

I do certainly knock Pruitt for that (your post above). While it may not be entirely “his” fault it certainly gives me pause for concern. Then that was backed up by many other “pause for concerns”.

I was also giving my reasoning behind not wanting him as Tennessee’s coach.

Heck if I’m one of these guys knocking him shouldn’t I give my reasoning?

If he’s the right guy then I have no idea how the team has regressed so badly from last year. That’s 100% on him and his staff
Depends on how you measure regression. most of the regression was stuff that was or should have been expected. We literally lost our whole Dline which was the strength of the defense last year. Losing that has hurt us plus the injuries we sustained in the offseason and so on. We also lost 2 major pieces in the linebacking corps.
Offense
QB's one could say we have regressed there
RB's we are improved there almost definitely
WR/TE we have improved there
OL definitely have improved there even with the silly shuffling

Defense
DL has taken an expected step back
LB's arguably better
Secondary hard ot say but it looks like we are building depth there and they are improving

Realistically we have improved overall as a team the problem is the places we are struggling are places that really show up. JG does not seem to have improved and no matter what the boo boys say from what we have seen he is still our best option at QB. Neither of the backups has done anything in their time on the field to make me want to see them over JG.

Dline is a mess. No one has stepped up when you are rotating as many people as we have been rotating it means no one has separated themselves. I honestly think the coaches need to just settle on a poison and take it. Same with the O-line the musical chairs there is not good and I honestly think thats had an effect on JG. Even though as a whole they have looked better than last year there is no consistency.

Your assertion based upon that quote borders on the absurd. At best your reading comprehension needs work. At worst you're being willfully dishonest to make a point.

You seem like a smart guy...I believe you can read just fine.

Rucker: Let’s be real about size, scope of Vols’ rebuild

This does a good job at being reasonable and kind of summing everything up nicely. This rebuild will take time,we have not that much real talent with an even worse culture we have to fix. That doesn't happen in one year, that doesn't happen in two years. Heck, it might not happen in 3 years. But we're going to be in this situation forever if we don't fix it. Pruitt might not be that guy, but he deserves the shot to fix it.
The real question is, during the last 5+ years, during our last "Rebuild", where were you on the question of getting a Real Coach? Far too many, were on board the boy butch train, even after the locomotive went over the cliff! I have pointed out, numerous times, those saying, "MORE TIME", do not man up, and say How Much More Time. They usually say the next year or two, maybe more, maybe a lot more, maybe until 2029...…. I also take exception with your statement, " we have not that much real talent". I keep reading, from so many posters, we have great talent, we're so full of talent, we have a line around Neyland etc., not to mention, for years under the boy butch nightmare, I read on this very board, "Wow, is boy butch the greatest recruiter or what-man this guy know how to get us a lot of Real Super Duper Talent...…". I guess you are saying, all those boy butch lovers, you know the ones that thought he was a Super Duper Recruiter, were(and still are) idiots-on that I'd agree. It just goes to follow, when you say we don't have much real talent, you are also calling out those that say "we've got huge talent, we are so much more talented than GS or BYU etc", good for you, they need calling out, we are 1-3.

I know because guys like ToTo, Banks, Gray, among others are taking playing time away from the guys who don’t want to commit to win. So when it continues and it will he’ll win and be here and you’ll still be saying we should have fired him

How is the different from Dobbs, Barnett, Reeves-Maybin and Sutton coming in and taking playing from the Dooley’s guys?

That’s the most winning group we’ve had in recent memory...

They won on talent more than coaching.

WOW-What once was old, is new again! I remember when being anti boy butch was a sure sign that you were part of the Lunatic Fringe. It's just that the majority of those answering the poll-- haven't come around to reality. It took them a while to see boy butch for what he was, and what he was doing to our program, they'll see the light soon enough. I believe the GA game may help them recalibrate their brains.
You mean the coach that won 9 games in back to back years? Ahh the good ol days..

But wait..dont tell me. This is all his fault..CBJ is why we lost to Georgia State..and got blown out by Vandy..which season did that happen to him when he was actually our coach?

You got me there! boy butch did a fair job when it came to winning the "make sure they get a bowl game" type games! CP could take a lesson there. Now when it came time to win games in the SEC (I believe we are still in the SEC), not so good, once you subtract the wins over Vandy…even Stevie Wonder can see, we weren't being "Rebuilt-brick by brick". But, Hey-we were Life Champions, that's something to cheer about.

Yep...Pruitt is obviously a better HC...i mean look at his record as a HC..we should all feel incredibly fortunate to have him here.
