Are we going to trade in our RB's for some DT's somewhere? Didn't know you could do that in NCAA football. Otherwise we may as well scrap the whole running game and convert the RB's to DB or LB's.Consideration for a position that isn't even open?
If fully healthy next year, you guys will see what Chaney can do.
I agree with you...IF we were running a spread passing attack. But that is not what we do here, and I doubt it would get us very far in the SEC, being so one dimensional. That's why Hunter staying healthy was so critical to this teams success. We needed a weapon opposite of Rodgers to keep defenses from shutting the passing game down. It was all we had.I Like Chaney, and with a full deck of cards I think he could do great things here.

True, but it seemed to me that schematically, Chaney just doesn't get it in the run game. I don't think he knows how to create holes for the RB's. I can't believe that it is all on Heistand's shoulders and the OL.It helps to have an Oline that can block and a pair of Rb's that can hit the hole, like every other successful SEC team.
The entire staff has been limited be their options.

There is some talent and size there. They should have blown Vandy's, MTSU's, and KY's smallish DL off the ball and opened gaping hole from time to time. Every OC we've had...even Sanders called a better running game than Chaney has.
Since when is it the coaches responsibility to perform on the field, he calls the plays, if the players can't execute, what are you to do?
I'd love to see what some other coaches could do with a roster made up of FR and Soph's, really would.
I highly doubt any coach could get much more out of what we have.
I'm positive there are better coaches than Chaney and that some could do better, but how much better?
You can't point to one person or one thing and say this is it when you are as bad at running as UT was. It's a combination of many, many things.
to be fair our running game wasn't horrible last year. I think the key is the personel running it. Theres no Arian Foster (who was much maligned by everybody as a vol), or Montario Hardesty's on this roster
We have the size, talent, and even enough experience on the OL to produce at least a mildly productive running attack. Instead, we have nothing.I highly doubt any coach could get much more out of what we have.

That's the truth, Truth!when we was fully healthy Tn still couldnt run the ball and that was against a div2 and cincy.
