Is JG the best QB in the SEC East?

He’s always been talented but I saw a change today. He had a confidence too him. A lot of his passes were like lasers and the longer ones he put where only his receiver could get it.

Yes, and that's exactly what both Coach Pruitt and Coach Malzahn said after the game!

JG and the receiving corps played All-SEC ball today. It's hard to beat 8/8 3rd down conversion of 100%.

I was proud of the whole team today and that performance was a big part of it.

IMO it's a close call between him and Fromm.

The media has always viewed Fromm as the best, but it's just so much easier to look good when you're surrounded by an elite team versus having an O-line that caves in immediately. That said, our O-line is definitely improving and we're starting to see what JG can do when he has time to throw.

At the very least, as I've said all year, JG is one of our best weapons on offense. Almost all the criticisms of him have been off-base. Even Peyton Manning would have looked like crap behind this O-line for much of the season.

The only "bad game" JG has had all year was Florida IMO.

JG is off my sht list and officially my favorite Vol on the roster.

The kid still has no concept of a blind side rush but Idgaf. He’s been hit by the best and keeps getting up. Here’s to rubber band man!!

On the play where he got hit and bent backwards, I was like thats it, but he stayed in, I dont see how.

I am a big JG fan but the answer is an astounding no. Yes he played good against Auburn and he has shown improvement this year. But right now Fromm, Shurmur, Lock and Bentley are better.

I'm just not 100% sure I'm taking any of those guys over JG.

Both Lock and Bentley are more turnover prone than JG. JG has the best deep ball of all of them. JG is more accurate than Shurmur and Lock. I don't think any of them are particularly good scramblers. And, as if it needs to be said, JG has put up better numbers behind an O-line that has been a trainwreck for much of the season.

There's obviously a great case for Fromm. Fromm has been very good at managing the game before today at LSU. He's very accurate. But it's also very tough to compare Fromm and JG given the vast disparities in the talent around them.

At worst, I'd say JG is in a "close tie for 2nd" in the East with Fromm at #1. Though, there's a case that he's right there with Fromm, as well. If you tell me when can trade JG out for Lock, Bentley, or Shurmur tomorrow, I'd say "no" in a heartbeat. The only one I have to think about is Fromm.

Why? No need for it
Blue font bro. I was hoping using C instead of K was going to catch McDads eye.

I've been behind JG from the beginning. Its good to see him getting better and I hope he tears it up from here on out. Not only because its good for us.

I know I sometimes get so caught up with my own emotions I don't think about how hard its been on the guys as a team and individuals. I know there aren't many, but I've seen a few posters downplaying the win yesterday, but that win was desperately needed. It was a huge win.
