Comparing Heupel to the greatest coach in the history of the sport. Typical trash post.
Hindsight is always 20/20. Did you know he was the greatest of all time in 2009 when he won a national title in his third year after inheriting a mess? Typical garbage thought process on your part to shape your own narrative.

SEVERAL coaches have won a title in their fifth season or less after inheriting a rebuild. You know who hasn’t, and won’t? I’ll give you three guesses and the first two don’t count.

Heupel isn’t what we hoped he would be, but if you’re happy with what we’re seeing, go ahead and pony up for the contract extension, big boy. Or stay in your mom’s basement. Your choice.

No you clearly don't get it. You probably played College football 26 and think "well why didn't Heupel send the house on this player" or something. These things are very complex and a coach bringing in top 15 classes with all of the restrictions is almost miraculous
right I don't get it. it's not like 70% of the poll responses agree with my point of view but you keep yelling at clouds if you want to if it makes you feel like you know everything. make sure to tell your supervisor at the sanitation department that you're resigning to go be Heupel's recruiting guru.

Now you are just being silly....Ole Miss has won multiple national titles and is among the top 35 schools winning percentage all time...

Northwestern and Indiana aren't even close...and I am sure you will cheer for him to make the playoffs over Tennessee but you are going to be so disappointed 😂
Ole Miss has the 60th best all time winning percentage….. please stop drinking and making up lies.

Are we not short on scholarships? Didn't we take a major hit when he took over? Those have been a hinderance and not a help to the football program since he took the job.
Being short on scholarships means the kids you do get have to be of a high caliber. Like all of those 5 star California defensive backs that Alabama and Georgia have on their roster.

Was it that "mystery coach" Currie told you about?

I meant 35th in Wins...they are 44th all time in winning percentage

No… they are 60th in winning percentage all time. Also, they are 41st in wins all time.

Are you seriously on some substance buddy? You’re just pulling stuff out your ass while backpedaling and moving goalposts every other post.

70% of this board are idiots.

Yes, last night was disappointing but reality is this is the youngest team in the SEC for a reason. That being the recruiting classes of ‘21, ‘22 & somewhat ‘23 were below par primarily due to restrictions & NCAA issues. Meanwhile two of the biggest rivals (the two losses) were recruiting in the top 3 for every year.

The constant mistakes have to stop. If they continue, some staff might need to be replaced at seasons end.

I think your number is too low

Womp womp. Actual and factual. Cry more.

HAHAHAHAH you are counting Division 1-AA schools who transitioned to FBS in this decade AND has FCS wins counted as the same?

wow Kennesaw State is better than LSU, Florida, Clemson and Miami because they had tons of FCS wins this decade, who knew?

Imagine having to make that stretch to try to justify that Ole Miss isn't a top 40 successful program alltime 😂 😂 😂 😂

hmmmm let's compare here

I’m posting actual and factual data that is up to date. You’re posting data that includes wins that don’t exist and stops counting over 2 years ago.

But sure, I’m the one not posting accurate sourcing. Good luck buddy! Maybe you might wake up from your drunken stupor and realize we are in 2025, not 2023

one of the favorite volnation excuses when evaluating the current coach is the ole "look what he inherited" and while it's true that heupel inherited a mess just like every coach in the country to comes into a situation where the previous coach was fired, but it is now the middle of year 5.

none of the players heupel inherited are still playing for this team.

he's had multiple recruiting cycles to bring in top rated players

he won 10 games in his second season so clearly it's not a real excuse for lack of success.

scholarship limits were increased by 20 so any limitations placed on UT due to sanctions (which were actually incredibly small limitations to begin with) are basically a non issue anymore.

so should this excuse be tolerated on this message board again? should people who use this excuse be reported and banned from this place?
It’s true he inherited a dumpster fire and I think he has made the roster better every year he’s been here but there’s zero excuse for last night. We’re fundamentally a bad but talented team. There are plenty of less talented teams that execute at a much higher level. IE Vandy.

So I think the excuse still holds true but it wasn’t good enough to justify the bs that occurred last night.

Also if you drop teams with less than 500 games played all time, Ole Miss moves from 59th to 55th. Thanks for playing. Hopefully you can learn that 55th isn’t inside/lower than 40

So let me just following your "logic" here

one of the top 8 winningest schools in the SEC, top 40 among major programs alltime, with several bowls, all americans, SEC titles and THREE national titles is an average program

but if Sacramento State joins FBS next year and goes 10-2 vs an Independent/FCS schedule, they should be considered a better program with a better alltime winning pct?

There's a reason most people don't actually consider programs that went FBS after 1996 to be included in these stats

Calling Ole Miss a top 40 all time winning program is making up claims, which you’re great at. I’m willing to omit JSU, GSU, JMU, CCU, KSU.

Ole Miss moves from 59th to 54th. Still not top 40.

Even if you took the win % out of it, Ole Miss doesn’t even crack the top 40 schools all time in wins.

So once again sir, please lay off whatever substance you’re consuming today.
