A word only has power over you if you give it the power to offend you. Sticks and stones deal. However, that being said, it is not a word that should be used period.
Giving it the uh sound instead of the err sound doesn't change the word. Just like everyone on here who uses frick, frack, or fawk. It still means the same thing.
Now that being said, we all have freedom of speech, but not the freedom to be offensive. I choose not to use any connotation of that word. JMO FWIW.
