Is it just me?

I never pay attention to what the announcers are saying ..I watch the game, the commentary is jibber jabber to me....but I don't sit and look for something to bitch about either...
What chaps me is that any announcer that goes into what they ate / drank for supper last night or what they are eating on now! Like there is no interest in the ball game. There was only one John Madden and a lot of "all hat, no cattle" dweebs running around out there.

He went to Duke, so of course he is, but I think he’s great at his job.

I had missed that. I always thought he was fair except when we played Duke last year. He talked like he wanted to throw our guys in prison for the physical play, which gets praised any other time. Especially when it’s Kentucky that mauls teams. I don’t mind that someone is biased as long as they are willing to admit it.

He said our guys should be thrown in prison? You sure about that?

Ill never forget how geeked I was to hear Bilas say "You need a bullet proof vest to get through Cuonzo Martin's practices at Tennessee". After seeing his product he gave us Bilas was very complimentary.

Here we go with more of 'the officials hate us," "the officials are terrible," "the announcers are terrible," "the announcers hate us."

I remember his words at the time. I didn’t care really. UT pushed his boys around. His beef was more with officiating.

The problem is that commentators are supposed to explain the game to the less knowledgeable viewers. Bilas became a loving fan and lost his trustworthy observer persona in that game. His take on officiating was dishonest.

We man handled Duke. Basketball is like that. Sometimes the officials say everything is a foul and sometimes they don’t. But his attitude was disrespectful to our players and dishonest about how basketball is played.

Eh, feeling disrespected/offended is a choice. I doubt he team felt like that. Not sure how a Vol or Vol fan could feel anything other than amusement at what he said, after that win. I was overjoyed and had no room to be offended by what some analyst said.
