Amazing. One of the DDNMWB members finally admits it. Wins and losses are not what determines a good coach? Haha

Admirable. I don't think the position is entirely unreasonable. Often coaches probably deserve more time than they get. In the SEC you don't always get what you deserve.
Has anyone considered that maybe Dooley has improved as a coach. Alot of things can be learned from past experiences. Hopefully he has learned from his mistakes and will not repeat them. History does not repeat itself- it is documented so mistakes are not repeated in the future.
I can conclude that Dooley is a good coach based on the state of the program 3 years ago and where it is today. Wins or loses doesn't equal good or bad. He's a good coach due to the fact that he has methodically recruited players to positions we were lacking in talent. He's a good coach by understanding the mindset of his players and getting the right coaches to coach the players. He has improved the roster, consistently had good signing classes and doing all the necessary things to get them to play as one. When all those things come together you win, not every game but your opponent knows that they've been in a war. That's what I see him building.
Do we want the exception or the rule?
I get what you're saying but imo the situation CDD came into in January 2010 was so BAD! Most "experts" were picking us to win 4 games and what Dooley did year one with that roster was pretty durn good. Almost an 8 win season, yes almost only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades but expectations were exceded. Last year, still a very young team with basically no depth. Add injury to two stars and it was one of our worst seasons in recent memory. I get it, Dooleys record doesn't say great coach, but what he has built in just 2 1/2 years definitely doesn't say bad coach. I just don't think any other coach would have done better in the exact same situation.

I can see it now..................................................
The music is loud! The girls are bouncing! The DJ is scratching!! The beat is bumping! The drinks are draining!
Fun and excitement is in the air!!
Then VolBeef88 walks in wearing his pants to high, with a cigar sticking out of the side of his jaw, and the DJ scratches the music to a stop. Everybody turns to see him, and starts slamming their drinks on the floor and on the tables. Party is over. All the drunk girls stomp out of the door. All of the confetti stops falling. You can hear boos off in the distance...
Could have been a fun night.....
Everyone is gone.
Even though I think Dooley is firmly planted on the hot seat, very good article. Made some good points.

Somewhere in my gut, I still don't think Dooley is in near as hot a seat as some think he is, my opinion being as long as Cheeks and Hart see marked improvement, he is at the least safe till next year, anything beyond 8 wins to whether the 9th comes via a bowl victory or regular season gets him a minimum of 3 year extension. I know that probably is not going to go over well with the haters out there.
Not only did Dooley inherit a shell of an SEC football team, but he had to face two of the toughest schedules that UT has had in years.
I understand, but will return to my previous statements. Average or good doesn't cut always cut it in the SEC. Dooley has another year to prove himself. It is sink or swim.....
It isn't up to us...it is in the hands of Hart and the boosters now.
