I enrolled in UT in 1974. I was a season ticket holder from 1982-2017. My father was friends with Johnny Majors, Hank Lauricella, Al Rotella and a number of others who played for Neyland. I've sat at the table and listened to Coach Majors and others tell stories of play calls and who was blocking whom on plays he rain in 1955. Majors can still do that to this day. I've heard stories first hand from players about how Neyland dealt with people. How it was to be recruited by Neyland. I was at every single UT game in the 1990s, and the 1980s, home or away. Do I remember the 90s? I'll go back to my advice from earlier. Learn some football. Your ridiculous lack of knowledge about Georgia State, who's been utterly dominated by P5 teams and regularly struggles with FCS teams compared to a Memphis team, that while bad, has played big time football programs for decades and beat 2 power 5 teams that year, tells me all I need to know about you and what you've forgotten and also what you've never learned.
I couldn't care less about who you claim to know or who've you listened to for however many years you've lived.
You're still talking like a geek who has never worn a jockstrap for yourself or stepped on the field to actually play one organized game of FB in your life.
I flat out guarantee you that Coach Majors would agree with me on this issue.
Since you have such a great and close relationship with him, why don't you call him or go visit him and ask him directly?
I'll take your word for it---but just put up or shut up!
I stand by everything I've said....
My entire POINT in this conversation has always been to point out the talent gap between opponents who went to battle with one another.
Our players are just NOT much better that most of those GSU players who took the field for our first game.
And they keep on proving it as the season progresses.
Georgia State could've scored more than 3 points on the Gators last Saturday.
That '96 Volunteer team that lost to Memphis was absolutely LOADED with NFL CALIBER talent across the board.
For those players to lose a game to Memphis was inexcusable.
