Iran

I consider slave labor concentration camps abhorrent enough and we knew that the NAZIs were using them by at least the end of 1941. Hundreds of thousands were dying in those camps.
and by the end of 1941 we were well and truly into the war.

if slave labor and hundreds of thousands of minorities dying we should have also invaded: The Soviet Union, France, Britain, Belgium, and probably a few others.

Well, approval rating of POTUS and whether or not we are "winning the war" are two totally different conversations.

I'm no fan of this continued war, but I'll reserve judgment until the outcome is decided. If the Iranian populace can gather enough stones to overthrow the regime, their nuclear program is dismantled, and the strait is ultimately under a more secure position, it will be a decided victory. I'm not convinced that at least two of those are likely.

Having decimated the Iranian air and sea powers, maybe the surrounding countries will step up and finish this thing. That could lead to a more stable ME in the long run.

The cited polling includes public perceptions on the war, which are heavily unfavorable and hastening trump's rapidly declining stature, which in turn is impacting his ability to dictate the outcome of this war without the public will to continue.

This war won't end with a ceremony on the USS Missouri like WWII. It will end when trump figures out a way to save face and run from the mess he unnecessarily created.

The war was ill-conceived from the beginning Air wars don't change regimes, never have, never will.

Our stated goals have evolved from regime change and the trump admin appears to have settled on disarming Iran's nuclear ambitions - but trump himself bragged that we obliterated Iran's nuclear capability last year, so that doesn't resonate.

As to Iran's military capability: "Likewise, the Trump administration’s public insistence that Iran’s missile capability is all but obliterated was thrown into doubt following assessments from the intelligence community that Iran still has roughly 70 percent of its mobile launchers and 70 percent of its prewar missile stockpile — first reported by The New York Times on Tuesday."

Our constantly rotating system of government plus our tribal politics prevent the US from playing the long game. A dictatorship will always have that advantage over a democracy.

Also, our people are soft and demand instant gratification. We couldn't win a WWII today with our citizenry, if it wasn't over in 3 months we would be rioting in the streets due to rationing.
I don't disagree

Yeah by being booted from South America and the ME, makes sense. They are flailing. It is over we won, you lost, and you are wrong. Deal with it.
China hasn't been booted from South America, they've list since recent ground to the US but only after we ignored strategic partnership opportunities there.

China is still firmly rooted in South America.

America appears to be flailing. So much so that we counting on China to help us secure an open Persian Gulf.

How did I lose and you win considering we're both American? Either way I nor most other Americans feel like I'm winning. I'm worse off today than I was 2 or 3 years ago.

I’ve actually been to Dachau. That’s where a significant number of my family members were last known to be. The murder (working to death of Jews) stated in 38/39. But to your earlier point, nobody knew it was happening till after the war. Earlier involvement would likely not change much
I too have been to Dachau, visited when we were living in The Hague. Powerful place.

The British were receiving reports of what the Einsatzgruppen were doing on the Eastern front in ‘41. We knew.

Radicals that believe they are fulfilling a religious prophecy?

Tell me more.

Did PH end with allauh akbar and detonate a vest?

Nope. Please stop with the comparison of Christians to radical Islamists.

Lol, you don't think US military leaders telling soldiers that attacking Iran is fulfilling dispensational christian prophecy to bring about Armageddon is 'radical'?

Speaking to personnel and using Christianity with the biblical perspective about the end of days isn’t the best approach for Pete in this situation and should be left for the individual to interpret with their own faith.

US military brass have used biblical references before. Both Patton and MacArthur referenced it to rally the troops.

Your statement trying to link this as some radical form of Christianity and radical Islam comparison is a reach.

Name another US military leader that told their troops that they were fulfilling a 19th century dispensational prophecy to hasten the 2nd coming/rapture/Armageddon/etc,

How many jihadist's have NOT used their radical ideology to advance their interpretation of the Quran and Muhammad?

Why are you deflecting?

You made the claim, back it up.

Name some US commanders that told their troops that they were fulfilling Christian dispensational end-times prophecy like Hegseth has his flunkies telling their troops.

The point was your claim about Hegseth preaching about the end of days and how radical that may be, while ignoring the radical policies of the nation we're currently at war with.

Some of the quotes from Hegseth:

“Our capabilities are better. Our will is better. Our troops are better. The providence of our almighty God is there protecting those troops, and we’re committed to this mission,”

A couple of days later, not long after returning from a dignified transfer of soldiers killed in action, Hegseth quoted Psalm 144 at a Pentagon press conference: “Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.”

You view this as radical?

I said both MacArthur and Patton made references to biblical verses and prophecy during their commands. I didn't say they were quoting what you're referring to did I. Nope.

US military leaders telling troops that attacking Iran is fulfilling a prophecy to bring about the return of jesus are the actions of religious radicals.

The United States is not a "christian nation" no matter how much you christian nationalists try to convince everyone otherwise.
