But his agency has yet to be given access to the government’s uranium, which was enriched to 60 per cent purity before the 12-day war in June. To be weapons-grade material, this stockpile would need to be enriched to 90 per cent, according to the IAEA.

“They seem to be quite protective of this,” said Grossi, who is receiving around-the-clock security protection after being subjected to a reported Iranian threat against his life. “They believe that this material could be still subject to more attacks.”

He added that it would take “not much time” to enrich Iran’s uranium stockpile to 90 per cent purity. “It’s a matter of weeks — not months or years,” Grossi said, adding that this was why Tehran’s nuclear programme was facing so much scrutiny before the US strikes.

I still am willing to give the administration the benefit of the doubt and assume that at some point, when it is safe to do so, they will share the intelligence that showed that according to Trump Iran was weeks away from having a nuke.

I can see why we might not be getting that info now if it means disclosing a valuable HUMINT
source that we need to keep safe.

But yes, given the conflicting statements coming from them, it is getting harder and harder to accept.

Currently we aren't in a better position with Iran. They control the Striat, the regime is still in charge, and now they have all the excuses they need to say "we need a nuke to keep America out." If they continue to control the Strait, like Trump has suggested he might allow in a partnership, they will be raking in billions of dollars per year. Far more than the dollars Obama released back to them. Then you have the fact that this war is costly when we are not in a financial position to play world police. Also, do you think the crack downs on the Iranian people are going to be less authoritarian now or before? Take a guess. This has been a shite show from the jump. The fact that they were not enriching uranium doesn't make the half ton the the already possess disappear. Couple that with their ballistic capabilities and the fact it is all controlled by homicidal psychopaths, that is a very dangerous situation. Even more dangerous than a trip to the Swamp for a Vol fan, now that's bad.

Given how deep Israeli intelligence was embedded in the Iranian government then in 2025, and all the way till we started attacking them in February of this year, I find it hard to believe that our intelligence was so wrong that we went from "their nuclear capabilities are obliterated", to "they are an imminent threat to produce and use a nuclear weapon" 7 months later.
