Iran

That is fair. The think the speaker may have included Lebanon to apply pressure to Israel, same as I think Israeli pressure (by virtue of their commitment to act) got us involved.
There seems to be two 10-point plans. One the media got with Iran probably knowing exactly what they are doing with it. Propaganda 101 that Iran has been doing forever. The other is what seems to be discussed between the parties.
The 10 points being circulated aren't new, though. They came out weeks ago to little fanfare and always included Lebanon. Iran's expectations seem aligned with those 10 points. The only people suggesting there's "another version" are us, and we have an obvious CYA reason to do that

I never got a chance to tell him I am also an Arsenal fan.
Same here. Unless I'm getting confused, MAD was also one of the nicest posters on the forum as a passionate Lions fan. In part because of that I wanted them to do well, but then relations with him really went left over the last couple of years

The nation has fought so many wars on Israel's behalf.. and for what exactly? Same strategic back room deal that promises to better American's lives?

When in fact Iran has been "2 weeks away" from nukes for the past 30 years. Israel's prime minister is laughing at the politicians here.

I understand being a strategic partner in the middle east. But their people have free healthcare. An excellent military (Until recently). All at the cost of American tax payers.

How many wars have we fought on behalf of Israel?

Mad was an absolute tyrannical terror during Covid.

How much if at all do you think US and other countries' antagonism toward the regime helps or hurts a) their ability to maintain power and b) political opposition to the regime?

When they kill their leaders, it hurts the regime. When they put them in an existential crisis and they test their limits such as closing the strait of Hormuz successfully, it helps the regime.

The ceasefire was not approved by Israel and Bibi wanted to continue the strikes, so your argument is worthless.
That's most likely true except for the last clause, but you know the official word out of Israel is that they were fully on board with the ceasefire. I guess there's no fun for some folks in bombing a city when there's no ceasefire.

More "winning hearts and minds" silliness. It didn't work in Vietnam and it didn't work in Iraq, so of course we tried it again in Afghanistan.
In Vietnam it was pretty much lip service and was more than countered by our propensity to lose hearts and minds through wanton destruction. Did we seriously even try it in Iraq?
I expressed a similar sentiment recently. You can't win hearts and minds while the populace is still under the heel or in fear of an oppressive regime.
Repeatedly bombing wedding parties and such gatherings makes it difficult too.

I doubt Israel would have agreed to cease fire with Lebanon, for no other reason than that doesn’t sound to me like what they would do.
The speaker works for the moderator / host of the negotiations. It's not their role to put pressure on one side or another.
