Our diplomatic future in the region should be built on good relations with the Stans. I think we already have a good relationship with Pakistan. If we could continue to cultivate a relationship with Turkmenistan, swallow our pride and reconnect with Afghanistan (Taliban), we could bring a lot of presence and influence to Iran.

You aren't asking Stan accompany your wife on a business trip. There are many relationships that are effective which work around the lack of trust in business and politics.

Turkmenistan is a predominately muslim country with a secular government. We would be wise to cultivate better relations with them.

To your point, he's ignoring that we went to war in Iraq over a lie, which is where the American service deaths are.

The second point I have is that we keep seeing "Iran-backed" in all of this garbage, but whose intel is telling us all of this is backed by Iran? The same people that fabricated the Iraq WMD argument?

The biggest positive about the times we live in is that the combination of our politicians being total morons and having everything recorded all the time means the mask comes off way quicker than it used to. And it takes an extreme level of blind obedience to ignore it.

I assumed several of his bigger promises (mass deportations, big government cuts) wouldn't be really feasible, but at least some progress would be made. I assumed he'd meaningfully release the Epstein files like everyone on his campaign trail said. I assumed we'd see no new wars.

Instead we've gotten him calling his own voters dumbasses (or whatever the phrase was) for talking about the files, the man trying to slap his name on everything in DC, starting new and silly wars for his own ego, no meaningful cuts (and, in fact, way more spending), the same- if not worse- economic pressures on everybody, and on and on. This term is a disaster.
