Iran

He doesn’t distinguish here between civilian power plants or those being used for military purposes. Given the simpleton he is, he is probably talking about civilian power plants, which would technically be considered a war crime.
We don’t need to be blowing up power plants.

Does Iran operate power plants dedicated to civilian or military use?

Irans Military in a nutshell…

IRGC: ~150k. Ideologically driven, often recruited from hyper religious families and further brainwashed and indoctrinated into the regime. Their entire existence is to protect the regime. They are well taken care of financially and are not feeling the effects as the average Iranian from a financial standpoint. They’re beneficiaries of the Islamic republic, and with almost certainty will defend the regime until it’s clearly inevitable for collapse.

Artesh: ~300k. This is the typical military. Trained like any other military. They are not as ideologically driven as the IRGC, and while trained adequately as far as being a military, they don’t have the level of resources and training as the IRGC. Most Iranian men upon turning 18 have to serve at least 2 years in the military. Their job is to protect Iran defensively, but like the IRGC they take ultimate command from the regime and supreme leader. While conceivable they could defect, it’s highly unlikely as traitors are quickly executed. Again, unless collapse was at 100% certainty, people run the risk of imminent death if they defect.

Basij: A paramilitary force of volunteers. Anywhere between 100k to 1 million depending on a lot of factors. They are not nearly as trained as the military forces mentioned above. They are essentially hyper religious thugs from the street that weren’t cut out for the IRGC. The government offers job prospects, promotions, etc in favor of their assistance when necessary. They are often most responsible for civilian suppression. They are not as organized as the military, but they are used as an accessory force of the IRGC.

So to answer @hog88 and your question, because they don’t want to die, and more importantly they don’t want their family to die. They have massacred 10s of thousands on the street. They will hang recognizable professional athletes publically. They do all of this for suppression. It’s a hostage state.

We’re all going to die. The question is how much will a man risk to live without a boot on his and his family’s neck? And don’t get me wrong, this question doesn’t just pertain to muslims, it needs to be asked of everyone.

Agreed, we don’t need to be destroying vital infrastructure.
I agree. But Iran needs to quit effing with the Strait too. Actions have consequences. Same people here (not you) bitching about gas prices are the ones saying don't hit the power plant. Do whatever we need to do to get this regime gone. Destroy every single military installation and underground missile storage if necessary. I guess we are gonna have to keep destroying their military until they turn on the jackasses who are getting them all killed.

Iran is effing the straight because of our preemptive strike. I wouldn't have necessarily been against this if it had been done with precision proactive planning and forward thinking. Obviously that's not the case here. It's a chaotic CF. Brought to you by an incompetent President and SecDev

"Why negotiate when you can bomb them!"

-FIFA Peace Prize Engraving

Jason Brodsky, the policy director of United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), told Fox News Digital, "The Trump administration, in citing Iran's missile threat as a rationale for Operation Epic Fury, was therefore justified in its decision to undertake military action as Iran has consistently refused to negotiate over its missile program.

"It also shows how dangerous it is to solely rely on Iranian nuclear weapons fatwas and the supreme leader’s public rhetoric in formulating U.S. policy. As long as Iran retains the technical capability beyond public pronouncements, it is a threat."

Starting unnecessary and unwanted wars is never a good plan. But here we are
None of that matters. Dead Americans? Big deal, gotta get those profits! And then use propaganda to make it look like we are being virtuous. There are no “good guys” in this. Not us, not Israel, not Iran. Money money money. They would sacrifice all of us in this thread for an extra 20$ bill in their pocket yet people bend down and worship them. And this goes for the left and the right.

Iran says acting intelligence minister appointed, name to be announced later

An acting intelligence minister was appointed immediately after the killing of Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib, a communications aide to President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Sunday.
Mehdi Tabatabaei, deputy for communications and information at Pezeshkian’s office, said the appointment order was issued by the president and conveyed to the relevant authorities, but added that the name of the acting minister would be announced at an “appropriate time.”

Time to get his affairs in order.

If you're going to cry about the war yet also cry about a more permanent solution, something tells me you just really enjoy crying. I, as a byproduct of not being a total pussy, won't lose sleep over enemy eradication.

“You crybaby. I not pussy. Bomb everyone.”

Is how I read this

Before we go further down this rabbit hole, my initial point, to which everything else I've written is but a footnote, is that it is contrary to our national interest to get bogged down in occupying the Strait of Hormuz and exacting tribute from other great powers whose ships attempt to pass through it. Nothing written in our exchange has given me cause to reconsider my stance.

With regard to the message I've quoted above, I admit to ignorance of the details of the Irani's blockade and its effect on non-combatants (perhaps @SubVet676 would be willing to weigh in). My bottom line is that I condemn any violence against non-combatants, and I will readily revise anything I may have written inconsistent with this bottom line.
I can’t add anything of substance. It’s been awhile since I knew things.

I will say that the ballistic missiles fired towards Diego Garcia raised the stakes.. and the temperature in the room.

Trump will answer. The question is “how”?
