Iran

I can’t add anything of substance. It’s been awhile since I knew things.

I will say that the ballistic missiles fired towards Diego Garcia raised the stakes.. and the temperature in the room.

Trump will answer. The question is “how”?
Yet another possibility that Trump would have been aware of before he started this mess, if he actually read the security briefings that are prepared for him daily.

i was reading something about how revolutions are impossible to predict due to the nature of public thought vs private thought and how if the known indicators of revolution are observable, it just means the revolution isn't just imminent, but actually happening, and it happens overnight.

Personally, I'm not interested in talking about whether I think we should or shouldn't have done this at this point. Its done and I don't see any way to put the toothpaste back in the tube. The IR has to go at some point and it probably should have been done a long time ago. The cold war was such nasty business and **** the Soviets and **** the RF for making all this possible. The gulf states have spent way too long with their heads up their asses about the IR.

The only way out of this is a successful revolution because a failed state will kill every sane iranian given enough time and the region will never stabilize

I get his point to an extent. I don’t think we are losing. Iran has likely been decimated to large extent militarily. But I don’t see any end game. The population is not going to “rise up” against the regime. So what’s the end goal?

And therein lies the problem. Iran still has enough guerilla capability to threaten the oil infrastructure and logistics and they will continue to.

The regime isn't going to surrender. And trump will attempt to save face above all else given the malignant narcissist that he is, everything else, including his own voters be damned.

God forbid being critical of America or Israel without pointing out Iranian leaders are crazy every single posts. If you interpret me as a regime sympathizer, you should work on your reading comprehension. @Vol8188

Your posts go well beyond that. You went as far as to blame Israel and the US for Iranians attacking a civilian airport in a country that has no US bases and is not being used in any way in this conflict.

So once again, I find it weird to mock another poster for wanting to “bomb everyone”, while simultaneously excusing that exact behavior by Iranians.

It’s insane

Do you think Iran would have struck Azerbaijan had we not struck Iran first? We are not directly responsible, but cause and effect says we played a part. We licked the ant hill. Now the ants are scurrying about recklessly. We caused that.

If you cut me off in traffic and I go home and murder my wife and kid is it your fault?

Everyone is responsible for their own actions. If you get into a fight with someone, you can’t be expected to know that they’ll then try to murder unrelated third parties.

Those ants have agency. It’s ignorant and morally wrong to deny that

More terrorist actions from Iran against the US ...

From the article:

A Pakistani businessman accused of plotting to kill Donald Trump told a federal jury on Wednesday that he was coerced into the scheme by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, which he said had threatened his family to secure his participation.

Merchant testified that his Iranian handler, a Revolutionary Guard official named Mehrdad Yousef, had directed him to travel to the US in 2024 and recruit criminals to carry out a four-part operation: staging protests, stealing documents, laundering money and arranging a murder.

In conversations in Tehran, Yousef supposedly didn’t give an order to kill one specific person, but did name three potential targets – Trump, then president Joe Biden and the former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley.

There are dumb arguments.

There are disingenuous arguments.

And then there's your divorced-from-reality argument that you've made here, where you pretend that the actions Iran has taken, have not been in direct response to US and Israeli strikes.

Iran is effing the straight because of our preemptive strike. I wouldn't have necessarily been against this if it had been done with precision proactive planning and forward thinking. Obviously that's not the case here. It's a chaotic CF. Brought to you by an incompetent President and SecDev
I know CNN and MSWhatevertheyarenow say this, but the US have been planning for a conflict with Iran for decades. Just like we have plans for potential conflicts with China and Russia.

To compare, Iran is 2.7 times the size of Ukraine. Russia has been in a war for four years with Ukraine. We have been involved with Iran for 3 weeks.

Iran has also planned for this conflict. They have stored missiles and drones for years. In 3 weeks we have eliminated their Navy, Air Force and nuclear facilities. In the process, we have not carpet bombed civilians or deliberately attacked civilians. We have shown restraint and still accomplished all this in 3 weeks.

His “cut someone off in traffic and they go home and murder their family” is one the most idiotic things I’ve ever seen on this site. That’s saying a lot

We planned for conflict with the USSR for nearly 50 years.

Planning for a conflict didn't change that fact that current hostilities were initiated by Israel and the United States.

You don't get to redefine "no new wars" just because Trump and Netanyahu decided that it was time for a new war.
