Iran

Both regime and non-regime media confirm that drone strikes have begun against street level IRGC and basiji units.
Checkpoints and vehicles are being struck. Suppression forces are being killed in large numbers.
A NEW PHASE HAS BEGUN

Millions are never going to take to the streets now. If they protest/revolt, they will just get mowed down by the current regime.

They are severely weakened in terms of their missiles, navy, and air force. Unfortunately, they don't need those things to quell uprisings.
I agree. We need to make it so they can actually take to the streets. Thats not gonna be an easy task. They spent 50years preparing for this.

It’s amazing to me that the kids were in school to begin with. I’m pretty sure mine would have been at home with me and not in a school located near military targets.
Regardless of who is responsible, it’s a very sad situation. Those children were innocent
It was a school day and it was our first strike on Iran; there weren't recent strikes leading up to that day. I'm not surprised they were in school

We need a group within Iran to begin doing this as well, the people need a home grown champion to rally support behind.

If true this could be a positive development

Yeah … trotting out Scott Ritter and letting him rant on Russian state propaganda why America is bad isn’t really going to garner support from anybody in this forum. He’s bought and paid for by Putin.

And no I don’t think we should be doing this at all. But Ritter is a child molesting chode plain and simple.

100%. Called the attack on the school intentional
It was. We destroyed the targeted building intentionally. Our Intel was incorrect.

believes our navy could end up “at the bottom of the sea”,
You're a fool if you think our ships are invincible.

compared going into the strait of Hormuz to D-Day
You failed to understand the analogy.

and believes they’re currently winning the war.
Define winning. We've blown up a lot of their assets, but Iran still has the same regime in charge, still has a nuclear weapons program and is still blocking the Strait of Hormuz.

Are you good with Trump quitting the war now under these conditions?

Also believes the current Ayatollah may live for 37 years or more
Could happen. Who knows.

He won’t admit it, but he’s cheering for them.
You got me.

And let that be a lesson to anyone here who questions what our government is doing.

To your point, while some of this will get passed down, inequality continues to rise

I'm not at all suggesting that these are prosperous times for those of us under 55, but I wonder to what extent the numbers cited here are a function of 1) the 55-and-over demographic being a much larger percentage of the total population today than it was in 2000 and 2) today's 55-and-over demographic holding more substantial investments in their own name (even if, for many or most, these investments provide a less secure retirement than that provided by the pensions their parents enjoyed).
