Iran

They just built their facility 70ft underground to protect their medical technology. That’s all. They have no interest in nuclear weapons.
ahh yes let’s listen to message board insiders over US intelligence and the IAEA that inspects them

I’d rather Americans not be killed over baseless assumptions

I’d have to see it. From everything I’ve read the IAEA has maintained they were not pursuing nuclear weapons.

He’s an article from November where the director talks about how a lot of their reports are misquoted and Iran was not attempting to develop nukes

Understood. I am not challenging your post. Just looking for clarity.

I am one of the weirdos who doesn't really care Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons. As a sovereign nation they have that autonomy. Frankly, I think Israel has more to lose if Iran is nuclear compared to us.

Hey you’re the one with the “but they’re gonna have a nuke!” histrionics. So did Trump f$@& it up last time and not end it? Hey he told us he ended their nuke program. So which is it?

He only took out 800% of their nuke program.

He is taking out the other 1200%

"They don’t want anything getting out that says what they’re doing in Iran is raising the threat level at home."

Consider the source, but if true this obsession with optics seems dangerous

Of course it raises the terror threat level here in the US. That increased threat is a direct result of Joe Biden's wide open borders allowing terrorists to stream into the country for years completely unabated. That threat also existed whether or not we struck Iran. This strike just makes the threat more imminent.

The internet’s answer:

The main reasons given were:
1. The administration wanted to review the information first
A White House spokesperson said they were ensuring intelligence released publicly was accurate and properly vetted before distribution.
This is the official explanation.

2. Possible political or strategic concerns
Some officials involved in the process suggested another reason:
  • The report would have raised the official threat level inside the U.S.
  • It might suggest that military actions against Iran were increasing domestic security risks.
One DHS official said that concern may have led the administration to pause it.

3. Inter-agency disagreement
Reports say
  • DHS prepared the report
  • The FBI objected to how it was handled
  • The White House intervened after it was notified only hours before release.
So part of the issue may also have been procedural conflict between agencies

My thought:
They blocked it because they do not feel it’s time to create mass hysteria in America. They don’t believe that there is a threat of an imminent Mass Terrorist Attack on US soil. Possibly blocking the release of the bulletin to not inspire these attacks from radical individuals.

In WW2, the US government blocked the media from releasing info about the huge, bomb laden balloons released by Japan to start wildfires on the West coast. The 1st one that actually did make it here did in fact start a fire in the wild. This is a rare circumstance where not disclosing info to the public was definitely the right thing to do. In the end, Japan released thousands of them but nearly all of them detonated or otherwise failed somewhere in the Pacific. Only a handful ever even made landfall here and not all of them even started fires.

If it were made public what happened when that 1st one actually succeeded, it would have made Americans panic bigly that the continental US was being directly attacked including civilians. The news would have also reached Japan which would have encouraged them to release thousands more after seeing the effectiveness of making fear which was their objective. Sadly decades later a family of 6 discovered a strange object in the remote wilderness backpacking and they messed with it triggering the bomb. It killed a family of 6. Not reporting on the minor initial threat was the right thing to do though, because we were at war.

I tried to have a conversation with you. Then you decided to call me a liar. Call me a liar and the gloves come off. And no, I'm not sure we're all on the same side. Many on here are hoping for failure. They wait for any bad news to have some sort of "gotcha " moment.

All my points were reasonable. Just because you believe it won't work out doesn't mean it won't. All I know at this point is the person responsible for killing as many as 40,000 innocent people are dead in pieces. Millions around the world that are much more in tune than you or I am are dancing in the streets while people in the US are eulogizing that ruthless killer.
I didn't call you a liar. I said your facts were wrong. And they were. Having the ability to admit when you're wrong is a good thing. I've been wrong a bazillion times. We all have been.

Oil tops $90 per barrel. Did anyone really not see this coming? Are you really too simple to see a repeat of George W’s WMD’s and war in the Middle East decision?

Raise your hand and disagree with me. We need to make a list.

Bruh oil may go over $100 a barrel but Trump will drill baby drill it back to $90 in only a few short years.

Trumpy will toot his own horn (blows his own trumpet as to why I call him Trumpy) and all the Trumpets will blow Trumpy’s trumpet.

What a magical time it will be.

No worries I didn’t take it that way

I agree, although if nuclear weapons are the reason for attacking Iran I’d rather there be proof of that. It feels like saddam. Inspectors say they don’t have it, politicians say they did, Americans die and turns out the inspectors were right
That may be it. Could be from a different news outlet but covering the same information.

Looking at that pbs article, the IAEA doesn't seem so certain as it did in previous reports.

Is that your take away?
The way I take it is yes Iran was enriching uranium passed the limit up to 60% just below weapons grade(both US intelligence and IAEA has maintained this assessment). After the bombings last summer the IAEA couldn’t provide proof if the enrichment actually stopped. They seemed to maintain that there was never any proof they had a nuclear weapons program in place though.
That said, I don’t know what a nuclear weapon program entails and what is needed after weapons grade uranium

As a registered Republican and a conservative I can say without a doubt that the Republican Party is dead.

Just like the Democrats left the moderates behind the Republicans are leaving the conservatives behind.

Republicans (trumpets) no longer care about:

1. The constitution

2. Fiscal responsibility

3. Small government

4. States rights

The dear leader of the Republican Party is a socialist.

Keep drinking the peace Presidents kool aid
Your right, the Rinos and the Neocons are dead.

Trump has pushed for several proposals put forward by Pocohontas, Bernie, and the Squad...
Does he have a Palestinian flag in his office? Was he rich before he got elected or was he poor and got rich while making 170,000 while in office, and now pushes for the confiscation of the wealth of others? Did he ever marry his brother?
