I think once the decision was made to strike (right or wrong) that the regime cannot be allowed to stay in power. Based on both past threats and actions along with actions it took against it's neighbors targeting civilian infrastructure.

Since the decision was made to attack we more of or less owe it to the people of Iran the right to a chance at self determination.

Spain can do as they wish, but they have fallen short of NATO obligations for some time. And while they have participated with military support in the past there is division within the country, mainly the fractioned political parties and their allegiances and post Franco they have been reluctant to increase military spending and support. In short Spain has internal issues.

With the exception of Poland, Europe is a bunch of Islamic countries.

That was just an example. Like I said, I'd wager most of us here aren't kept up at night about it because most of us are self sustaining men above the age of 35 with enough free time to make milk puns amidst a uniquely shaky time in the geopolitical landscape. The doomsday clock is 85 seconds to midnight (the closest to such since the creation of the doomsday clock) and we're not collectively freaking out.


What I took from his point is that we took military action that would, with utmost certainty, spike gas prices in a time when the economy isn't exactly holding a cup flowing over the brim with prosperity. We can't get a rock solid answer as to why it needed to be done right now.

I know some people, even members of my extended family, who think we go to war in order to increase gas prices as a benefit to 'big oil'. Of course, they think it is R presidents who take this approach. I didn't know if that was LG's angle or not, tbh.

I didn't know about the doomsday clock. Should I blow all my money on good times since the world is about to end?

And the US farmers who received farm subsidies though USAID and other programs.

And US school kids that received free school lunch through the NSLP.

And the US oil and gas industry that is subsidized by the federal government.

And US pharmaceutical companies that have had their research costs subsidized by the federal government.

And US corporations and banks that received bailouts from the federal government.

And US corporations that Trump purchased an outright ownership stake in for the federal government.

The US military is the world's biggest socialist program but people who "hate socialism" demand we spend more on this boondoggle even though the US military lost to jihadis who paid their own way to fight the Americans.
