15-year-old Diana Taheri (or Taherabadi) was dragged from her bed by security forces at 8am on January 25, 2026 and transferred to Kachouei prison.
Her crime was protesting.
She now faces execution by hanging.
She is not the only child at risk of execution in Iran, as credible human rights organizations have reported.
Moreover, it was just a few short years ago that 16-year-olds Nika Shakarami and Sara Esmailzadeh were killed for the same reason.
Most recent reports say Diana is at “imminent risk” of execution, and that her family have been warned it can happen any day now.
