Yes, I remembered that after I had responded.@kiddiedoc
Ban bets are against Freak's rules and regs
So the ayatollah pinky promises not to play with uranium (again) and everybody high fives and heads home?
See yall back there for pt. 2 in a few years lol
Just to be clear, there’s no end here that would make you happy, right?
No perpetual war. No boots on the ground. Significant damage to Iran’s ability to enrich uranium. Death of numerous Iranian generals and key scientists.
What specifically are you looking for?
I'm just struggling to see what the point of getting involved in the conflict at all was if we are essentially returning to the status quo. What would have made me happy was staying out of it to begin with.
So I took the opposite view on this. It's an assassination no matter how many times you do it. It's really up to the receiving party to take offense and start a war, but they just don't have the beans. This is kind of like terrorism except the roles are reversed.it would be one thing if the missile strikes were like the Iranian ones that hit bare dirt somewhere just for effect. but when you are killing a foreign national in their own nation, and not after a trial and sentencing, and its done by the military, on orders from the CiC, thats war. We have just gotten too used to the political BS. I remember when this board condemned those Obama bombings, but now you have drank the Orange kool-aid and lost any consistency you might have ever had.
Another nation does the exact same thing to the US, and you guys would be up in arms about being attacked, that nation declaring war on us thru its actions.
But wait a minute... according to our resident Persian, they WANT regime change. OR are they naive enough to think the religious zealots that have had their thumb on their lives for the last 40+ years will somehow see another way? This is the right message, but it's hard to consume for Iranians after just calling for regime change.
It is scary that we thought of the exact same thing. I almost used "wooden bombs" in my post but I thought I was the only one familiar with that story from ww2.its one of those stories on the internet that hasn't been proven either way, but during WW2 the germans built fake airfields and wood planes to mimic the real thing. allegedly the brits learned about these wood planes, and dropped wooden bombs on them.
not really relevant, but I was reminded of it.
I'll agree Trump seems to be a bad listener a lot of the time when he has excellent resources who've spent a lifetime studying various problems. He "gut takes" decisions and statements and it takes getting used to. He is, however, slow to make mistakes. He absorbs more than I probably give him credit for from his advisors.Trump is just very naive and unsophisticated in these sorts of things. He blathers, struts, and seemingly can't understand why these other actors do things he views as irrational, notwithstanding their decades upon decades of acting in ways that are irrational to the West.
Trump is easily frustrated by people that do not do what he wants or directs them to do.
I don't agree with american intervention either but I think I understand the people who agree with it. Their opinion is that disrupting and delaying Iran's efforts are a necessary approach with the hope that over time Iran's leadership changes and moderate leaders take over the helm.I'm just struggling to see what the point of getting involved in the conflict at all was if we are essentially returning to the status quo. What would have made me happy was staying out of it to begin with.
Probably has something to do with the bunker busters and resetting their nuke timeline. May also be hoping for a grassroots effort at regime change, seeing how Israel killed most of the regime.I'm just struggling to see what the point of getting involved in the conflict at all was if we are essentially returning to the status quo. What would have made me happy was staying out of it to begin with.
Patton's Operation Overlord assignment:
While General George Patton was not directly involved in the Normandy landings on D-Day, he played a crucial role in the deception campaign that helped ensure the success of the invasion. He was not part of the initial assault force, but his presence and reputation were used to mislead German forces about the intended landing site.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
Deception Plan:
The Allies used a deception plan called "Operation Fortitude" to convince German commanders that the main Allied invasion would occur at Pas de Calais, rather than Normandy.
Patton's Role:
Patton was chosen to lead a fictitious "phantom" army (First US Army Group (FUSAG)) positioned near Pas de Calais.
Purpose of Deception:
By making the Germans believe Patton's forces were the main threat, the Allies hoped to draw German troops and resources away from Normandy, making the actual landings easier.
Patton's Absence from D-Day:
Patton was intentionally kept away from Normandy on D-Day to reinforce the deception. He was later given command of the Third US Army, which played a key role in the breakout from Normandy and the subsequent advance into France.
Effectiveness of Deception:
The deception was highly successful. German commanders were convinced that the main Allied attack would come at Pas de Calais, leading them to hold back significant forces from Normandy.
How is it not in our best interests? These zealots have been chanting (and practicing/striving for) Death to America for a long long time. They have been killing Americans all over the world for decades. Let's remove them from the equation and see what the bottom line is. If @Persian Vol is right, the populace will embrace it and elect more moderate leadership. If not, then the people are to blame. It is absolutely in our best interests to kill these people. You are too soft to look at the steer before you shoot it in the head, but you surely like that steak when it is on the plate. It's not our job nor in American interests to be caught helping Israel kill world leaders. Giving intel help and not getting caught, I'm good with that.
Actually being out there visibly helping just puts Americans at risk here and around the world.
The juice isn't worth the squeeze.
Yeah, but in DC. Like the rest of these whiners, they couldn't care less what happens anywhere else until Orange Man is gone.Just to be clear, there’s no end here that would make you happy, right?
