Iran

But are we certain they have that capability?
Or are we just going on what CNN and Fox News spoon feed us?

I love our country more than you will ever know, just not a big fan of our government and their propaganda machine.
The Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, told Congress in March that Iran wasn't working on a nuclear weapon according to US intelligence.

President Donald J Trump said today that "He doesn't care what she said."

He appointed her. He should replace her if she's actually not believable or not doing her job or lying to Congress. I suspect, however, the current government doesn't know and doesn't care what the truth about Iran's nuclear capability is but is assessing and addressing what they feel best serves American interests and President Trump's personal political profile after Israel attacked.

Once Israel attacked, it's been nothing but posturing to try to make this feel like a "win" to most Americans. We didn't start it and we likely won't finish it. Israel will.

Our job is to not look weak, look like we're definitely on top of things, and look like our input was crucial to the result.

That's the propaganda.

We are going with what both the UN and the Iranian government themselves have told us.

I’ve posted it numerous times now, but this isn’t CNN, Fox News, or anyone else “spoon feed”-ing us.

This is specifically what the Iranians themselves are saying

Iran openly admits they’ve enriched uranium to 60%.

Should she be replaced? Absolutely. She should have never been appointed.

Here’s a question

If we could have gone back in time and prevented North Korea from acquiring nuclear bombs, would we do it?

I’m most amazed by the number of uninformed people who just say “I just don’t trust our government on this”, when the information isn’t coming from our government.

It’s truly incredible. Is this the fake news Tucker is pushing? MSNBC? Where’s this joke of an argument coming from?

That’s fair and I’m not saying one way or the other, so dont get yourself all worked up.
I just like to question things and look at all possibilities.
Because tbh, I’m no longer surprised by anything and I refuse to let myself be disappointed by putting faith in things I used to, such as governments and elected officials.

I’m not necessarily sure I trust the UN or the Iranian government either, but that’s just me.

Let me ask you this? If you truly believe Iran has nuclear capability(or close to it) do you think they did so with the safety of the Iranian people in mind?
Do you think the US is getting so heavily involved because of the well being of the Iranian people or because they are concerned for me and you?

You have more faith in big government than I do.

With that said, I still respect your thoughts, knowledge and opinions and am willing to hear your argument.

Nuclear weapons technology is literally 80 years old now.

We aren't stopping any country from pursuing them if they have a mind to, short of bombing them into oblivion, and/or invading and occupying them.

Are you prepared to commit to that policy?

Lmfao okay.

“They confessed!”

“I don’t believe them!”

“The UN inspectors agree with their claim”

“I don’t believe them either!”

Idk what to tell you. The odds that everyone in the world including the Iranian regime are lying so they can have reason to topple the Iranian regime is such an insanely low probability proposition that it’s not even worth entertaining

I don’t really care what either sides ultimate goal was.

Nuclear capabilities is a broad claim. The claim is very specific. They’ve enriched a significant amount of uranium to 60%. This is well beyond any known non-military purpose. That capability needs to be removed.

Is the US getting “heavily involved”? It seems you may be misinformed all around on this topic

Yes. Next question.

apparently the firing mechanism is very difficult as it has to trigger allthe explosive panels at exact same time..I learned that from that George Clooney movie where he tracks down rouge nukes by Serbian terrorists..good movie.
Those rouge nukes come from the Moulin region of France.

There’s no need for us to drop bombs on them . Israel has it under control.

Completely agree.
The only argument some of these people are capable of right now is “boots on the ground”, “I don’t believe Iran about their own capabilities” and “WWIII”.

It’s nonsense

Yes, they have done about all they can do now they need our big guns to finish the job.

I disagree. Israel can bomb them into submission. The Iranian people can then overthrow their government and join the modern world and voluntarily give up their nuclear weapons program.

Strongly disagree with this statement.

Nuclear weapons are incredibly complex. Splitting the atom isnt easy. My little brother is a nuclear engineer. He has no idea how to make a nuclear weapon. Has never met anyone who could...not his professors, his bosses, coworkers etc. Literally none. Ever. Not once. In fact, that work is so compartmentalized (for obvious reasons) that theres not 1 human being in this country that could build a nuclear device that would actually detonate. Thank God. Even trying to acquire the required equipment and parts would immediately be flagged by the FBI, CIA, probably Mossad and half the other intelligence agencies on Earth. We take that stuff super seriously.

Nevermind the fact that you cannot get your hands on "yellow cake" Uranium that is enriched to the 90%+ purity of weapons grade. Nor any other Uranium...of any grade. The Iranians probably got their Uranium from China or a former Soviet state...and have managed to admittedly achieve 60% purity on a large amount. That is 1 enrichment cycle away from weapons grade Uranium. Thats why they are getting their azzes handed to them right now. This has taken several decades and BILLIONS of dollars. It has also taken incredible levels of deception and secrecy, and cost them many lives in the process. It also required either China or Russia giving them supplies AND at least some of the technology to enrich. Yet they STILL don't have a weapon. Thankfully. They would absolutely nuke Israel right now if they had one. They have said as much.

It is absolutely not a foregone conclusion that any nation who wants a nuclear weapon can have one in 2025. There are lots of countries that want them, that dont have them now. Mostly the ones who hate us fwiw. We can, should, and will prevent anyone else from having nuclear weapons that we can...especially in our hemisphere. If China wants to arm their lesser neighbors like N Korea, there likely nothing we can do to prevent that. Good luck to anyone else trying to acquire that technology without US approval. We can detect even underground tests from halfway around the world.
