Iran

Again this has nothing to do with Trump or his dumbass justification for a war I don't agree with

This is a separate line of thinking about the comment the poster made about "who are we to keep Iran from a nuke" thinking...nothing more

And yes it's difficult to gain and utilize a nuke effectively for 2nd and 3rd world countries...just like it's difficult for The DC sniper or Dylan Roof to get and utilize fully-automated .50 caliber mounted guns on their vehicles, but it shouldn't mean they should be allowed to get them either

This is another ineffective comparison. We're talking about matters of a global scale.

Find a comparable geopolitical situation to compare this to.

Nothing to do with what we were discussing

Everything outside the narrow "city" limits is in another state? You just made that up, you're now derailing from even the original derailment of this thread.

"Leaving" the NY part of NYC metro to move to the NJ part of the same city isn't "leaving in droves" either lol, it is in fact not leaving at all

Many of those leaving for surrounding states are doing so due to poor policy in NYC. So when you intentionally expand beyond the scope of NYC to make the argument that it is not happening, you’re being dishonest (like always)

Conflation is an art form for those who refuse to look at the actual facts....those "fantasy of NYC unhappiness" also includes every poll showing how NYC residents feel about the city's issues with illegals, crime, rats, high taxes, AS WELL AS the "fantasy" of NY being 49th in the country net migration with literally a loss of a 1 million people leaving last year, most coming down to better run red states

lol but Connecticut, NJ, and Pennsylvania are growing!!!!

Guy was saying people are depressed living in NYC and "leaving in literal droves" while the city is continuously growing, and you're trying to say continuous growth of the metro area does mean people hate NYC so much that they're moving to...NYC. Impressive levels of mental gymnastics just to get absolutely nowhere and further derail the Iran thread lol

EDIT: and lol at the NEW YORK CITY METRO AREA being "beyond the scope of NYC". I guess about 4 million people in Atlanta are "beyond the scope of Atlanta" too, with only 500K residents. Never stop blatantly lying even after the whole board calls you out for it

It wasn't a treaty, a treaty is required to be ratified by the Senate

It was simply a voluntarily "agreement" to give them their $ and hope they tell us the truth

Even by this flimsy agreement, your question is answered about "who are we to tell them they can't have nukes"...by the same actual agreements from the UN decades prior that they agreed to
Let's presume everything you say is accurate...

Do you agree that the US blockading the Strait is good policy.

It is for Trump, because when he opens it he can claim his extreme, stable, high-IQ effort opened the strait (as in, got us back to where we were when we started).

...this whole farce is like a game of 'nuh-uh, you are!' from this stupid ass administration.

I said they have the right to a nuclear *program*.

Not the same as nuclear weapon development.
The problem is that any level of nuclear material can make a dirty bomb. Now if they want to have nuclear power plants with someone else controlling the radioactive material then I can see that. Under no circumstance would I sign off on them enriching their own uranium,

Can’t have the current regime and nuclear material together in the same room. Period.

Actually if this were Trump’s idea we would be putting a tariff on any tanker passing thru the strait. And yeah he would actually call it a tariff. I think this is more Rubio. Since allowing the Iranian tankers only passage thru the strait was completely moronic. If we go anything we blockade those tankers.

Don’t interpret that as an endorsement of this stupidity. On the scale of stupid ideas a blockade of Iranian flagged tankers is less stupid than allowing them to pass.

Now if it’s only a blockade of non Iranian flagged tankers who paid for free passage to Iran that’s none of our damn business since our actions resulted in them being in a situation where they had to pay extortion

The city growing due to an influx of migrants and asylum seekers. Good luck with that
