Iran

I don’t harbor any moral objection to a people or society that collectively declare - for this infraction, the penalty is death.

I have a moral objection to any system that repeatedly gets it wrong. We have shown that we repeatedly get it wrong.

Beyond a reasonable doubt is too low a burden of proof to deprive an individual of their ultimate liberty.
Yeah. The burden should be "in the absence of doubt" or something similar.

Iranian drones, shahed's, are being used to attack military and civilian areas in the Middle East. They need missle interceptors tha Ukraine has to counter them. We are low and asking for them as well. Ukraine is saying we will give you some if you give us some weapons that they need

It may have been posted already but I don't see it - this quote is so telling on the whole latest edition of the DJT Dog and Pony Show 2026:
Asked Tuesday who could replace Khamenei, Trump told reporters at the White House that “most of the people we had in mind are dead.”

I think advances in AI have changed my mind on that.
Funny you mention that. I put a manager on suspension earlier this week. The allegation is that he sold an employee perscription drugs. One piece of evidence is the employee has some screenshots of the the employee sending the manager money via Apple Pay. Manager says they are AI fakes. My HR team was able to recreate similar screenshots using AI. Now I've got other stuff to bury the guy but I found it interesting

Incredibly rare. The Columbine shooters might be a good example of being able to meet some “super burden” of irrefutable truth.

Testimony is not enough on its own.
Classic forensics is not enough on its own.
DNA forensics is not enough on its own.

Combine all 3 and you’re still not there imo.
Combine all 3 plus clear video evidence? Maybe.
I don't know enough about the art of criminality to quantify degrees of rarity.

But I don't think is irrefutable is 1 in a million circumstances.

Trump gonna install a "Weekend at Bernie's" type corpse as puppet??

Selling prescription drugs? That's horrible.

Who is it specifically and how can I get in touch with him? Ya know, so I can make absolutely sure I don't accidentally contact him.

They oppressed the Europeans too..filthy Irish, dirty Italians, cabbage eating Germans, etc.
And the Barbary Pirates of Northern Africa (muslims) enslaved, robbed, murdered, and raped over 1million white Europeans and Americans too...but you wont read that in public schools because of course its counter to the "white man evil" narrative.

At least they did help us develop our Navy into the best in the world in the 2 wars the US fought against them at sea.

Don’t fire someone for selling an employee some Xanax. They need that to continue working for you. Poor guy. 😉

How and why? I have to disagree with you on this, he's a private citizen who's earned the right to wear his former uniform anytime he wishes so he under no circumstances should face any penalty from the military.

Now with that being said, if one of his crayon eating brethren stomps a mudhole in his azz for wearing his uniform during that stunt I wouldn't bat an eye.

While our soldiers die protecting them, this is what the Israeli youth are doing in bomb shelters:

I hope all you Israeli Firsters in here enjoy this.

You do know all Isreali citizens have to serve in the military at some point. Those young people will have to do their duty when the time comes.

I think it does change if it is self inflicted. A soldier throwing himself on a grenade to protect others is different than him shooting himself to protest the war...at least it is different to me. I admit I have never thought about that before this moment and I cannot articulate why I feel the way I do. Need to think on it some more.
I agree I do think it’s different. I think sacrificing yourself to save others is the most selfless and admirable thing you can do. Dying for a belief like some of the apostles is up there as well. Idk what my opinion on this is and I don’t think suicide should be celebrated but I do think it’s a conversation worth having

Kurds are Kurds, they don't recognize the borders they live within. They have actively fought with the goal of autonomy and a Kurdish homeland.

They exist in numbers in Turkey, Iran, Syria and Iraq, and they have a history of clashes within their current countries. Any movement to overthrow a sitting government is seen as a threat to it's neighbors. Not advocating for the right or wrong here just explaining the reality.
It’s interesting to watch the outrage from some Persian nationalists the moment there is speculation that Kurdish forces could play a role on the ground against the Islamic regime. Suddenly the same people who claim to want ‘freedom for Iran’ panic at the idea of Kurds having any real power or autonomy. That hypocrisy says everything.

Kurds have fought and resisted oppression for decades. When ISIS was terrorizing the region, Kurdish fighters were among the first on the front lines while much of the world hesitated. At that time many of you praised their bravery. But the moment Kurds speak about their own rights, their own land, and their own self-determination, you start calling them terrorists.

You cannot have it both ways. Kurds are not a tool for your political convenience. They are a nation of tens of millions with their own language, culture, and history that existed long before the modern states drawn on maps in the Middle East.

Trying to smear Kurdish fighters as terrorists only exposes ignorance and deep prejudice. Wanting freedom from oppression, defending your people, and demanding the right to govern your own future is not terrorism. It is a basic human right.

If the future of the region involves Kurds finally having a voice and defending themselves, perhaps the real issue is not Kurdish ‘terrorism’ but the fact that some people cannot accept that Kurds refuse to stay silent anymore.

Those Phalanx systems are so ridiculous. All different kinds of rounds too depending on what you want it to take out. Imagina mounting something like that on an armored ground vehicle with solid rubber tires or tracks. Wouldn't be surprised to see something of the sort developed soon for taking out anti personnel drones and anti vehicle drones
imo the phalanx and the gau8 (A10's gun) are the only American weapon systems developed since WW2 worthy of the legacy John Moses Browning left us.

plenty of good stuff, but I think those two would make our patron saint proud.

The apostles were murdered for their beliefs, a little different

Wait. You are Jewish?

I don't think I am allowed to like you anymore.

Well, I didn't like you during COVID, then I liked you in UT Baseball, then ... well, I forget....

Are you gonna try to eat me?

(Asking for a friend. [not really] Really?}

At least if I have to cut you loose, I will still have @Orangeslice13. We gentiles gotta hang together, you know.
What’s this Covid you speak of, never heard of it.

I want a Tshirt that says this. Long sleeved preferably. With pictures front and back too, for Marines and inner city kids who don't read good and whatnot.
