Yeah. The burden should be "in the absence of doubt" or something similar.I don’t harbor any moral objection to a people or society that collectively declare - for this infraction, the penalty is death.
I have a moral objection to any system that repeatedly gets it wrong. We have shown that we repeatedly get it wrong.
Beyond a reasonable doubt is too low a burden of proof to deprive an individual of their ultimate liberty.
