Iran nuclear program. It is a lie

We gave up the ability to sanction them for nothing. There was no benefit in the deal for us or our allies, it was a legacy deal with the only winner being Iran.

I don't see how this has a negative effect on us and I'm hoping we can come up with something better. If we can't Trump owns it and it should be an easy campaign point in 2020.

It seems that most of our allies disagree with your assertion. There was a benefit to the deal. It may have not been a great benefit, but now we have nothing.

Correct but this deal was in essence a treaty which Congress must give approval on. Yes I know they abdicated power on this and Obama used it.

Hypothetical, if he had congressional approval, should we be backing out? Why or why not?

Most of our allies just wanted to get the Iranian oil flowing again. Plus since when do most of our allies give two ****s about anything more than themselves?

$76 a barrel for Brent, really soaring. :thud:

You should email the author of that article and scold him for not having being in line with your objective delineation of what defines soaring.

I posted the inspection protocol earlier. There is no teeth to them, if Iran can delay the inspection for a month they are useless.

So the effect of nixing the deal is to ... what? Get them to agree to more effective inspections? What makes you think they will agree to them?

I still think we should be backing out but if it had been done as a treaty Trump couldn't back out on his own authority. It's like an EO, one POTUS issues one, the next can wipe that shot away. If Obama wanted it to stick he should have submitted it to congress as a treaty.

The author should have contacted Argus and got his **** straight.

So are the interests of France and Great Britain divergent with our own when it comes to the Iranian problem?

I don't know if they will or not, I suspect that they will. But again, what is the use in having ineffective inspections and no way to enforce the deal?

I was told EO's are bad 2016. Where are we on this now?

Sometimes they are because we have always been there to bail them out from their own piss poor decisions.

Which piss poor decisions have they made of late?

They had amnesia with the fact that the Iranian regime hates the United States, Israel and the rest of the west and would like all of us wiped from the face of the earth...their old school radical ideology has existed for decades.

Ehhh...so let’s trust them, they’ll change their lying, cheating radical murderous ways as well.

C’mon man! Why are you even remotely defending these radical mullahs?

We'll eventually have to bail them out of their immigrant problem. We're bailing them out now of their decision to close over 1/2 of their refineries, one reason diesel is so much more than gas here.

And the obligatory mention of two World Wars.

I would bet all the money I have that if Obama were making the Korea deal and Trump had made the Iran deal, most conservatives would totally flip on how they feel about each.

I'm pretty sure that no matter what happens with Iran, it will confirm what conservatives want to believe. If we go to war with them the reaction we'll hear is "see, they're bad"* and if we have uneventful peace with them we'll hear, "see, pulling from the deal worked".

*but to their credit, 10 years down the road many conservatives would be talking about it as a costly quagmire that we shouldn't have ever been involved in.

If you could only choose one, would you rather support a pro-radical Mullah regime , or an pro-Trump adminstation?
