This is what gives me the most hope. This seems to always make a big difference with Barnes. On paper the most glaring thing I saw is that they force a lot of turnovers, and we commit a lot of them.
That’s usually not a good sign.
But these types of games are harder to predict because when you have a full week to prepare, the arithmetic can change. (Good example was the UK S16 last year. With a week to prepare we solved their defense that had hurt us so bad in the two games earlier that season)
I value KenPom rating very highly. The difference between their KenPom and ours is a pretty large gap. It’s the same difference as ours is to Texas or Georgia (to give you context to a team you would have seen us play this year)
ultimately I think Iowa State is a pretty clear favorite. But you can’t count us out. It’s March, after all.
Fwiw, Iowa St. beat guy on Basilio's show today said that as of yesterday Jefferson still couldn't walk on it, and that he doubted there was much chance he plays.I think he has a press conference at 3, hopefully they pepper him with questions about it.
While I’m filling expecting some kind of coach-speak non-answer about Jefferson’s injury I’d expect questions about that too
In this instance, I was trying to help with the confusion. But at times the descriptor would be accurate. Just ask my better half! Are you possibly confusing “Uneducated” which is the forum name of the person I was responding to with me calling you uneducated? Take a look at post #19 on this thread and it may provide some clarity.
P.S. southgateVol isn’t a Jackass - he’s also trying to help you with the confusion.
Yeah I feel like there's a been a game or two every season where we see one or two zone possessions. From what I remember, the limited nature of these instances is because they were overall ineffective.I seem to recall us playing a couple series of zone this season, but my aging memory can’t place which game/games it was?
They turn people over and we turn the ball over. If we win it will be the biggest NCAA win for Barnes at UT. And if you win, you get Michigan, who would destroy us. May beat Barnes with Florida Atlantic talent. The tournament is so often about matchups. How do we matchup against Iowa State? One thought I have heard is that they are excellent at the guard position in creating ball pressure which leads to turnovers and bad passes. How will JG and Boswell perform seems to be a key to the game??
Carey is like Dean Portman in D2. We don’t need a bully every game, but there’s a few, like Sunday and especially against Louisville early season, we don’t win. Also, without him we would have exactly zero depth in the big men since Cade went down unexpectedly.i cant understand why we signed Carey.
When someone says they can’t understand, just believe them. Another explanation isn’t going to remove their inability to pay attention.Carey is like Dean Portman in D2.
