Interesting tidbit

I wasn't being confrontational. I was just presenting my side. I realize why he was considered. Part of that was MH is an idiot, imo. However, that still doesn't mean you just throw your hands up and accept it.

I'm not calling for Dooley's head immediately. Can he get it done? Possibly. I just don't think he will. Just not much of a fan of the "who else would have us" attitude. It's not the attitude of a winner, imo.
I'm don't either. In the long run though, even if he turns out to be a Zook like hire who just restocks the roster for the next guy, we'll still be better off than we were with Fulmer.

Nor was I...the all CAPS have a way of over-emphasizing my point.

The biggest issue was Hamilton's pledge to have a coach hired within one week. Hindsight being 20/20, who knows, would an Interim HC have been the better idea? It definitely worked out for Ohio State.

Me personally, I have no friggin clue how he's going to do this year. I have stated several times though that I have a hard time seeing more than 8 wins...hope I'm wrong.

As for Dooley, I don't think there's any way I can make a 100% accurate judgement on him as a coach b/c of the swiss-cheese roster he inherited with only marginal amounts of talent. I can, however, say that the evidence is stacked against him...and it's not good.

I hope he proves it all wrong this season...there's enough talent on this roster to do some serious damage in the SEC, with the right coach....

I have no issues with this.

It comes out anytime anyone dares besmirch Dooley. If you don't realize that, you're not paying attention.

I'm not blasting Dooley here. I'm blasting the attitude of woe is me,; nobody wants us.

He said I wish we could ask Hamilton who turned us down. You are reaching on this one. If we have to fire Dooley, we will have better options this time no doubt.

Wires crossed. 79 thought I was speaking about him when I was asking a question and speaking more to my views.

It happens.

From 07 to 09 UT only got 1 OL that has contributed significantly to the program and that was Dallas Thomas.

In that same time period the only DL to contribute more than 1 year have been Martin (tough guy but injury prone and never lived up to billing because of it), Bohannon, and Walls.

Talk about a way to run the program in the ground.

While I did not know excact numbers, I have been saying our lack of OL and DL recruits the past 3 or 4 years has hurt us as much if not more than anything. Thinks for finding the info.:hi:

The flashy skill position players sell tickets. The big uglies up front win championships.

The best season I ever had was when I had some highly skilled big guys with nasty attitudes on both sides of the ball combined with average to decent skill players.

Too bad having awesome players in both areas is a rare occurrence.

This all day boys and girls ^.

This is an issue that is worn out! I don't remember the names MH interviewed, but I do remember Muschamp being on it and everyone all excited he might be the new coach, and him saying he was staying at Texas where he was already promised the head coaching job. Fast forward and all of a sudden, he accepts the Florida job. All this to say this: Dooley was on a list of coaches compiled by a service of up and coming coaches, and the other coaches who were contacted by MH were too narcissistic to take a job they knew would reflect on THEM and their abilities in a negative way. Dooley isn't so full of himself that it scared him away, even though he had to have known how the fans would react as he took the program through the tough times that laid ahead. One more thing. Even if he wasn't "your choice" stand behind this coach and his staff and see what happens once there are talented players manning the trenches, and skilled players in those important positions. Enough already with the Dooley bashing.

Sup JV...ope you're holdin up well. On topic now, we have 3 nasty Dlinemen in Sentimore, McCcullers and Phillips who should make an immediate impact. A few more who may need a year in the weight room but should beast next year and I believe we are going to sign 4 high quality Olinemen this year (3 commits already?) Even though all our starters on off. Line will be back next year but 1. Big uglies sttarting to look good if not great in ktown. We are loaded at receiver, bowles pig and croom this year and just stole maybe the best wideout in hs from USC...wide receiver U is back. We may well have great skill pos. And lines for years to come. I can't speak to Dooleys X's and O's , but he is one hell of a recruiter. I say 9-3 this year...if everyone came back next yr we would have a good shot at winning it all. If they don't we will still be good. Thank God I believe the hardest times are over.
