Interesting Stat On Jalen Hurd

It's not all that surprising when you think about how often he's been hit in the backfield. If you get contact after only taking a few steps, you have no momentum to help break the tackle. If your first contact is in the secondary, then you've got a great chance of shrugging it off.

Bw nailed it. It's due to the line issues earlier in season. Also he's missed cut back lanes on occassion. He's getting there.

Agree 100%.....that stat is not a reflection on Jalen....it's an indictment of the worst OL in the conference.

Been a lot of getting stopped before he started this year especially early because of line continuity. Not many defensive players want him one on one in the open field tho that's for sure.

Great post. Not even Eddie George or Earl Campbell could do much about being hit in the backfield. As great of a talent as Hurd is, neither can he.

That stretch play they run hurts his average too, because its either a ten yard gain or 3 yard loss depending on the wideouts blocking. It's gonna be on when he can run inside.

If you don't even have the ball yet and you have first contact, that can skew your stats somewhat...just sayin!

That is interesting, I wonder what is YAC is after catches from screens and swingpasses, its gotta be up there. That screen against South Carolina where he got hit, spun, and kept his balance and scored, got me harder than a diamond in an ice storm:lol:
