I'm thinking about going there before the A's game Tuesday night. Given its proximity to the N. Berkeley station, if someone wanted to get to campus, wouldn't riding BART to the Downtown Berkeley stop be the easiest mode of transport?

Busses run so often down university I think it would be faster. Particurally if you aren't going at rush hour, since that line doesn't run as often as others. If you are going there before the As game you want to take the fremont train from north berkeley. I suggest looking at the schedules so you dont end up waiting around. Another good option right off bart is Barclays off of rockridge bart. Great brews and food. fyi: albatros doesn't serve food, but they do let you order from a pretty decent pizza place next door. edit: you probably know all this since you travel to SF fairly often. . .

The comments on the website for the article made me crack up. They think Ainge was only good because he had Meachem. He also thinks our running game will be worse, and he says our secondary will be awful. Cal fans really do think they are going to win this game. They remind me so much of South Carolina.

From game 1 last year to game 1 this year I think you guys will be worse than last season. By the end of the season. . :dunno:

but I only care about game 1.

And we really do think we will win this game. Those expecting a blowout either way will be very disapointed.

new receivers is the biggest thing. most here were expecting oneal to start, now it looks like he will barely play. And don't tell me that is a good thing. losing coker and your te doesn't help. Also new secondary and you lose two good dlineman. Remember the impact harrell had last year. edit: i'm very glad we don't play you week 8.

And last year we had a 'mentally fragile' qb and the typical other ?'s with inexperience....

Cal was just overrated...as they are this and every year.

What in the world are this author and Tedford talking about? From what I remember, the Bears were ranked ahead of UT only a few weeks later with the same record. So what is with all of this blabbering about not being recognized and the media writing you off after the blowout?

Indeed this team is getting more national play than last year's, even though the two teams are comparable, all the way down to the Heisman Trophy candidatures of Marshawn Lynch last year and DeSean Jackson in this.

Last year's pre season ranking for Cal was #9 and they had plenty of national play only to get smoked. I agree with Tedford's assesment they had to win eight in a row to get over that beatdown in the media's eyes. I just can't wait til the first and will say it has been enjoyable to discuss the big game over the summer with a rational and reasonable fan of our opposition, droski.. May the best team win. Here's hoping to see an Orange sunset over the Bay!!!!!!!!!!!

I have spent precious little time in the Berkeley area. Oakland is normally as far as I get in that direction.

From game 1 last year to game 1 this year I think you guys will be worse than last season.

You are wrong for 2 reasons. 1 the o-line will be much better and 2 the running backs will be much better. The secondary will be close to what it was last year because Berry is so good, we aren't expecting much of a drop-off from the CB position. As far as the recievers go, you don't need awesome recievers to have a good team. UT in 2003 had Mark Jones plus about 3 freshmen that made up the recieving corps. That team went 10-2 in the regular season (Clausen was a senior that year). Even if you take the 2 Robert Meachem tds away, we still would've pounded you into the ground. Besides, it's not like he did that much on the first catch anyways. It's pathetic that Cal fans think Ainge only played well because we had Meachem. What about the other 2 td throws and Hardesty's run? What about the fact that if we hadn't put the third string in in the 3rd quarter, the game would've been 50-10? Tennessee fans have the right to be cocky based on the game last year. Cal fans are cocky even though they have very little reason to be.
