Intel on Pruitt situation

Actually your statement is wrong. Believe what you want but I am extremely close to a big time booster, let’s just our bloodline is the same. Just because I know a booster and talk with him in a daily basis does not make me a booster. I am simply a family member and choose not to break the trust and respect I have to this individual.
Yeah that was my statement as well. I'm friends with a large booster and have been for many years. He just has a massive amount more money and influence (actually I have none :() than I do but that's never effected our friendship. And like you I would NEVER put his name on this board just like I would NEVER put my family members who played and coached at a very high level in the SEC on here. They would disown me if I did. Having said all that I have very little (especially this day and time) inside info and not for sure I'd put it out for ridicule if I did. I do agree with Deerpark that the situation facing our nation will have a direct impact on available dollars and NO ONE has the stomach to pay out $12 million for Jeremy plus asst coaches etc. There MUST BE a cant miss coach waiting to take this job (and I highly doubt there's one around like that still) so we may have to just play the cards we're dealt. We can have fun with it but we are not the ones ponying up those millions.

OP I don't and likely no one else knows you or your stats to believe anything. I will say this though I do not doubt one bit that Boosters are talking about an exit strategy for Pruitt. I have been on the train with him thinking he was starting to come into his own till the last 4 games. This AR game in particular though. He showed his coaching prowess when he didn't kick the FG towards the end of the game to go down by 1 score.

Pruitt has absolutely zero clue. None. I'm sick of his acting like he knows what he's doing and WE are the idiots for doubting him. Look how many times he mentions "I have been part of a lot of winning programs"...or "I ASSURE YOU...the gap is closing between us and Bama." He "assures" us? Oh...well why didn't you say that before? That's all we need to hear. He also said "despite what it says on the scoreboard." Yeah...never mind that pesky scoreboard. He is a clueless...backwoods....20 IQ....idiot.

Isn’t the “good news” that with the proverbial writing on the wall, Phil can actually start canvassing coaches now without the pressure of having to find someone with little notice? Supposedly ADs have a back pocket list, but I would hope that given the right lead-time we would be able to find the right guy who will say yes to the money (if it’s as Deerpark has alluded to that $ isn’t the problem, candidates are), even if that’s a few years from now.

My intuition is Phil is at work here. Recruiting head coaches is likely similar to recruiting execs, you have to play the long game until you have the right situation you can get the right candidate to switch over. I’ve watched dumpster fire UT football for long enough I’ll take a year or two more if it lands us the right coach coming out.

The Op is full of it, but Brumbaugh was not fired in the middle of the game. He was in the locker room after the game and was making recruiting calls after the game. He was fired Sunday morning.
Got ya. I had read somewhere that it was during the game. Thanks for clarifying.

I don’t know why it was D Line coach, I just know it was Boosters who met with Pruitt and forced the change. I don’t know if the boosters wanted D Line coach to take the bullet or if that piece was Pruitts decision.

I also agree that boosters are part of the problem, lots of big money guys with egos but not great football acumen.

Calling BS here.

Hopefully college football will soon be on its way to performance based contracts. Prove it and you get the big $$. Don’t and you pack your bags.

this is all about the maturation process of a new head coach at the highest level

it isn't always about coaching

CJP is either gonna use this season to grow professionally and get his ish together or he won't

there is a lot to learn for a guy that didn't even know what asparagus was until several years ago

Funny considering that a more reliable actual media source says he was fired during the game.

I also heard that he thought the English Channel was a British TV station.

If the booster’s have the power to get Pruitt to fire a DL coach why don’t they have the power to get him to play another QB?

Maybe, I have been told exactly conflicting statements than what Deerpark said. If he works in the AD then you need to take things with a grain of salt especially if the information is undermining to the department. Also, if Deerpark does work in the AD then my message to him is to stop hiring JV people to negotiate contracts for Coaches. The level of incompetence that the AD has shown in the past 15 years is beyond unacceptable.
GTFO

It's time for people to just accept that this is who we are at this moment in time. Pruitt is NOT getting fired this year even if we go 2-8. We don't have the money or the boosters willing to foot the bill. There is ZERO chance we pay two buyouts (Pruitt, Butch) and pay a new head coach all at the same time.

Might as well accept our fate and find other hobbies on Saturday. Pruitt ain't going anywhere till 2022 at the earliest.
