Insanity by Shaun T

Max Interval Circuit DONE!!

Next up, either Insane Abs or Max Interval Sports Training. I didn't even know about the Sports training one till tonight. Gonna check it out.

47 minutes of Max Cardio Conditioning DONE!! Now, just taking a second before start 33 minute of Insane Abs. After that, just one more workout to go. It's a been a LONG 10 weeks.

My last day (Day 74) of my first complete round of Insanity. Did the Fit test, and crushed it. The first day I started this program I did this test. I was so fat, weak, and unbalanced that I could barely do anything. I hit some double digits, but nothing above 15 reps of anything. Tonight, I doubled and tripled anything I did that Day 1. I could even do a couple of the exercises starting out, because I was out of breath for so long, but not today. This is definitely a great sense of accomplishment that I have, and I hope that if people read this, they know they can change their body like I have. So, 52lbs later, I am a changed man.

Next up, a week of rest, then 12 more weeks for me.

Congrats.

I can see you as the next Billy Maze with a sales pitch like that.

Alright I'm starting Insanity on Monday. I live in an apartment, so I might want to take this outside. I got connectable mats so I should be able to have enough room to do it all

Good deal. I need to get back on it as well. I haven't worked out in almost a year now.

Good luck! I'll be starting up some sort of P90X/Insanity hybrid the first week of April. Have to finish P90X first, though. I first did Insanity a little over a year ago. The results were phenomenal, but I looked like a walking skeleton. My suggestion is to eat clean, but eat like there's no tomorrow. You won't be able to take in enough calories, or at least I couldn't.

How many calories do you recommend a day? I was considering something like cheerios in the morning, a footlong turkey sub for lunch, and a marinara pasta or chicken dish for dinner

It really depends on what your goals are. Of course if you're looking to lose weight you want to be at a deficit. I used the calorie calculation guide that came with Insanity to figure up what I wanted based on my goals. I didn't have a heart rate monitor at the time, but I do now and if it says I'm burning between 800-1000 calories per P90X workout then I know you can easily reach that during Insanity. Between my workouts and basal metabolic rate I was burning about 3000 calories per day. I'd guess I was probably eating between 2500-3000 calories; about 5-6 500 calorie meals throughout the day.

And the best thing would be to break those 3 meal ideas up into at least 4-5 if at all possible. Maybe have your cereal (I'd add in some source of protein), a mid morning snack, half of the sandwich a few hours later then finish it after a few more hours and finally finish up with your dinner.

Eat more than that. Drop the cheerios for some oats and eggs.

I'm doing P90X 2 right now and not trying to lose weight. I try and take in about 2800 calories a day...it's unbelievably hard. I work out every morning at 4:30, drink a recovery drink, then eat a bowl of oatmeal or I have a protein fruit smoothie. Around 10 am I have a snack (power bar or nuts); for lunch I have a Subway sandwich or tuna salad. Another snack mid afternoon. For dinner I usually grill either chicken, pork chops, steak or ground steak with grilled vegetables (squash, zuchinni or asparagus).
