In February Tennessee's class will be ranked

Regardless of opinion on the various rating services, we are not acquiring the elite talent seemingly necessary to be truly competitive. As per the Ark comparison, CDD Hasn't proven to be near the class of coach as Petrino. (insert loyalty jokes and professiol record while ignoring a bevy of college success). #notdrinkingthedoolaid

Doesn't Rivals only take into account the top twenty commitments in the class or are they simply weighted higher?

IMHO the difference between 6th and 12th isn't going to be that great a difference. It all depends on whether Dooley can get it done on the field because recruiting isn't the problem at this point.

Yes, Rivals takes top 20 commits so if you take more the worst ones are replaced.

Rivals's formula gives extra points for being top 5 at your position nationally as well as being top 100.

You also can get points for being within the top 10-50 depending on position

The formula is out on the web. If you have some time it's not too hard to do an excel spreadsheet add in the formulas and you can a) determine how points you have and b) create various scenarios if you are so inclined.

Scout counts 25 scholarships and their formula is out there as well on the interwebz.

Problem with their rankings is that scouts ranking seem to be way out of line on some prospects and they also give out 50 5*s which is a bit excessive. Scout is based out of Washington (the state) so you see some in state kids ranked very high well beyond what they should be.
