Improvement under CBJ

I just think it boils down the fact that they are scared to death to leave their fortunes in the hands of 2 freshmen DT....not to mention that it implies to the other DT's that they have effectively been recruited over.

I doubt conditioning is the hold up with K-Mac. If that was it, they could at least bring him in on critical 3rd and short or goal line situations...but they don't. Instead they leave in the undersized Vickers and Williams...which just blows my mind.

I wish people would just sprinkle a bit of criticism on things. They'd quickly see that our coach feeds us a lot of BS. We aren't the youngest most inexperienced team in the universe. Khalil isn't playing because he's out of shape. Butch didn't spend five hours analyzing whether or not to go for a field goal or TD on 4th and an inch.

Freshmen linemen, on either side, have THE most development to do historically speaking.

It's not, nor should it be, a surprise that kmac isn't dominating at this point.

He's gonna be good. The fact it hasn't happened immediately is not cause for concern or criticism.

I understand that there are legitimate reasons he might not be playing more. Conditioning isn't one of those reason. I also don't buy that Jalen Hurd was "gassed" for those third and fourth down goal line plays against the Sooners.

Predictable, as predicted.
Huh? Who would Butch start ahead of Hurd, otherwise? Who would he start ahead of Barnett?

I also think Barnett is a bit of an exception in the sense that he really stood out, but there is no doubt, this staff by and larger prefers to stick with upperclassmen over the freshmen.

Normally, I would have no problem with that, but there are times where size and skill supercede seniority. K-Mac would make as much of an impact on the DL as Barnett did last year...but they think they can get by without having to play a freshman, obviously.

So ur theory is that we're not playing the "best" players, then, because either they're complete morons or for spite?

And you're willing to ignore every fact that's been presented in favor of your opinions, based only on your options?

Just checking.

Go find the post where I said Khalil is the best player.

Well I'll just have to work relentlessly on continuing to show improvement in critical areas. I've got a lot of youth, so that's a challenge. There's crucial progress being made, though. Every single day. You can't see it, but I can. Just have to keep my nose down and continue to make progress. The substance recognition is coming. Trust me.

Lmao

Conditioning isn't one of those reason.

Isn't? Or you just don't think it is?

It's not going out on a limb to acknowledge that a guy that hadn't played football since novemberish 2013, might be a tad out of football condition.

Funny how you decide your OPINION is a fact, and others are just....opinions.

Good call.

Coach K was 11-17 in his third year at Duke.

I agree with the sentiment. There are no formulas or numbers that will with 100% accuracy predict whether a coach will fail or succeed, either long term or short term. I believe, however, that one can use his eyes to figure things out by this point. I don't think Butch has it. If he did, I don't think in year we'd be heading into a game against a first year coach that will be lucky to make a bowl game with a sizable portion of the fanbase and media expecting us to lose.

You've been on this rant about freshmen not getting enough starts or playing time. I'm assuming you feel this way because you feel they're the better options.

How about a guy who has been in consistent contact with the coaches, and put on an exercise regimen TO PREPARE him for SEC play, then comes in early summer and goes through the entire summer S&C program PLUS training camp = out of shape? Your math doesn't add up, hoss.

Which would be a good explanation if he got a few snaps, sat out for a long, long time, then got back in for a few snaps. He's not getting snaps until the fourth quarter. Bad conditioning means you need rest to recover from playing football, not benchwarming.

We have lost 10 in a row to them. That is why people expect to lose.

People want to confuse the last ten years of this mess of a program as all his doing.

I think it has more to do with the OU loss and last year's Florida loss. I think people are expecting him to require multiple sets of pants this afternoon.

If we were more talented in either game, it was by the smallest of amount. It is absurd to get wrapped up in such a small sample size.

no, I said your opinions are not fact.
Neither are yours...so, stop stating they are fact, when they are not.

I love it how some throw around the F-Word like they own it. I mean the word...FACT (filthy-minded individual, you :) )

That's like going to a shopping mall and standing by the nicest car on the lot, pretending to ladies that it's yours. Then, suddenly, the owner shows up and asks why you are hanging out next to their ride. :)

Those were but two examples. We have a sample size of over eight seasons.

And if we were even close to being as talented, wouldn't that be something you expect to win if you've got the guy you think can get the job done at home and you're going up against a guy that was fired for historic incompetence?

Ok well y'all can continue to be miserable, hate on the coaches, 2nd guess everything, and run around after every loss with the ability to say "see told ya!".

I'm not trying to change your minds. But your not changing mine either. I know where we were after 2009 & 2012, and where we are today. And I do think our best days under CBJ lie ahead.

And I also know that at some point we have to win agame like this. And today is as good a place as any.

Y'all have a great day.
