Impressed now Rivals?

According to Scout, there are only 15 of the Top 40 Defensive Tackles uncommitted and UT has only offered 5 of these 15. Of those 5, we seem to only have a legitimate shot at 3. I hope Dooley and Co. are working some "Under the Radar" magic because I am not satisfied with where we are now!

I'll make sure Dooley gets the memo!:good!:

I really am satisfied with our commits at every other position, but DT is a major need for us...just hope they can pull something out bc the top talent is diminishing daily..

Screw the star raters. Dooley is doing an impressive job of filling the needs of the program. We ow need some defensive tackles and ends to go along with the strong classes we have hauled in at linebacker and defensive back.

I rate Dooley a five star and I don't believe in the star system.

These guys will be instantly downgraded by Rivals now that they've committed to us or not ranked at all. If you're not Texas, one of the Florida schools or the Sabanites your class sucks according to Rivals. Forgot to throw in those always overrated Notre Lame classes as well.

ESPN recruting site went up a notch when they hired Jamie Newberg from Rivals. Since then, Rivals has started going downhill.

The class you guys are putting together is just flat out filthy. I was just talking to one of my UT friends about your class, and the talent in this 2012 class that you guys have as commits is crazy.

Anyone who isn't excited about your class and is still in the "compare to TeamXYZ" is an idiot. At some point you hope it stops, but given the history on the board, it probably won't.

guys we will have a top 10 class come NSD just stop with the panic. there are special things going on at UT. completely different than when Fulmer left, Kiffin came in, then left, and now the changes between the impression players have of dooley between year 1 and 2 is completely different. look at how we finished up NSD last year. there is no reason to believe we wont match that or do better. Top 10 class this year, book it.

Way to go out on a limb there.

I have my doubts on top ten. I would say around thirteen

I do find it funny that everyone always talks about how we are getting screwed over by the services and like to discuss which of our recruits will get a bump up. Why is it noone ever talks about any of them being dropped down a star? A kid can be dropped down, just as easily as he could be bumped up.

We could get close to top 10 if Autry and Patterson are both 5* ... Little help Thunder

same, but that's only because you can have one or two recruits skyrocket you up the list. Class rankings are not determined by filling positions of need, which we have and are on track to do. Take last years class for example...we finished top 15 but in a needs ranking we finished easily Top 10 IMO. A lot of peeps around here need to quit worrying so much on final class rankings....we all know how our top 3 class turned out several years back under Fulmer.

Yup. Once they rate the Henderson and Jacobs we'll be in the top 25. And if they bump the guys they hinted at bumping we'll be top 20, maybe even top 15 w/o getting another commit.

don't forget we could likely get croom before they update the rankings :loco:

In my recollection, more kids have gotten the bump up than the bump down. Sometimes 5 stars drop to 4, but it usually goes up more often.

I agree, but I just find it strange you NEVER would hear a poster on this board say...after seeing the kid play..I think he will be dropped from a 4 star to a 3. If it were to happen, everyone just screams "that service hates us". Screw em! :eek:lol:

People prefer good news over bad, especially as fans.

To be fair, Rivals has been wonky all year. My attention has been shifting to ESPN ever since they got Newberg.
