I've been asking myself what the most "Tennessee" thing to happen would be, and for 2016 it is 100% losing to UF and then also losing to either A&M or UGA (giving Kirby Smart his first signature win), causing a massive meltdown in the fanbase before we recover and run the table the rest of the way by beating Bama.

And the Vols winning the SECCG and finishing #5 in the polls and barely missing the playoffs is just too perfect of a scenario considering our luck. It's also funny because it will be an incredible season given how crappy we were just a few years ago, but half the fanbase will be livid that we aren't playing for a national championship.

Prediction: Tennessee has 49 point leads with 12 seconds left in each of the Florida, Georgia and Alabama games but somehow loses all 3 games. However, the VN Nancies feel great about an overachieving, 9-3 season cause they only expected/predicted an 8-4 season due to our inordinate and unfair amount of youth and inexperience.

Coaches do lots more recruiting because they aren't needed to coach and line up 2 more years of number 1 recruiting classes just to stay busy.

Team 120 starts blowing out every team by 30 points or more and WINS it all!!!

After Team 120 WINS the National Championship the phones ring off the hook with every top recruit begging to come play at Tennessee.

All the coaches decide they're never leaving Tennessee and turn down all job offers.

If you're going to dream then dream BIG folks!!!

I don't think we'll be projected to make the playoffs until we can show we can beat Bama and Florida, I do think Florida happens next year but I thought it would happen this year and last

1. Hurd breaks record,and a few bodies.
2. Dormady red shirts, & S. Jones is back up
3. Defense produces 40 sacks
4. We score 30+ in every game.

Nothing sickens me more than the obsession over Florida. Its one freakin team. I'll gladly take an L to Florida next year if it guarantees us a spot in the SEC title game.

Some of you need to get over this inferiority complex with Florida. We'll beat them when we're good enough. Coaching staff and players. We weren't this year. I expect we will next year. If it doesn't happen then on the next season.

Stop giving that f#kkin team more credit than they deserve. It makes you and other Vols fans look WEAK.

Talent level is getting close to even for the first time in forever. Only so long Florida can escape with 4th and 14 miracles.

I expect we beat at least one next year. Just like we broke the losing streaks to Georgia and Missouri this year.

Baby steps fellas. Can't expect a team to go from 5-7 laughing stock to beating 2 of the most talented rosters in the country when it comes to future NFL players.

I know what you are trying to say. I do. But, this is a load and you know it.

If Tennessee is going to be that team that everyone wants them to be, they have to beat Florida.

And not once either. Or every once in a while. They have to beat them on a fairly regular basis.

It's not about credit or any of that other stuff.

It's quite simple. To win a title, you have to get to Atlanta. You want to get to Atlanta, you have to beat Florida. Before you list all the examples of when Tennessee got to Atlanta without beating Florida, you should know I am prepared to list all the seasons that a loss to Florida cost Tennessee a trip to Atlanta.

To win the East, you have to beat Florida and Georgia. That's just how it is

Vols win 10+ games but need 11 to win the East.

Most likely losses IMO in descending order of likelihood:

Bama- Home game but sits at the end of a brutal stretch and just before the open date. Terrible scheduling.

UGA- road game. Smart will get their D organized. Will hire someone who will run a disciplined O.

TAM- road game. Vols could be a bit banged up by this time with a temptation to look forward to Bama

UF- Home game. Vols should be confident. UF will be young and trying to replace some guys who made their unexpected run work this year.

ASU- First game would be easy for UT to overlook. They're a 10-2 team that returns most key contributors except at WR. Only losses were to Clemson and a good Ark St team.

VT- Not sure why... just seem better than the "mess" that follows

Ohio- good this year but lose some key guys

UK/VU/USCe/Mizzou- pick the order. All of them will probably stink.

99 is right. We gotta beat UF or we won't go to Atlanta. They are not going to lose many games next year and we can't let them have the tie breaker. I think we do.

I don't agree that we will need to beat them for several years in a row. Just once could get us to where we want to be. Then it will all fall into place.

Honestly... it would feel a little cheap to somehow manage to get to ATL without beating UF.
