"The actions of some, should not be the label of all."

That is something that gives me hope that we have the right kind of mindset in at least some of the players.

I’m not trying to justify anything so let’s not get it twisted. I jsut wanna make sure everyone knows that this tho of stuff happens more often than people think. And also why is the media reporting this issues in 2019 differently than last night? Also I seen in the article where the writer tries to justify it as college kids will be kids. So what’s different about last night. By that statement from the writer kids will be kids.
There is no justification. Using kids will be kids as a reason it is ok is why our kids can't feel safe walking down the street. The sick twisted world we live in is because way to many people look through the eyes of relativistic morality. "Everyone else is doing it, so why can't we?" Every time that is used, the why not gets a little more twisted.

Guys more than a few items were thrown from the upper deck that did not make it to the field. How many braindead fans (drunk or otherwise) thought they were Peyton and never came close to the field?

Seeing players on their knees praying is an awesome sight. I bet the prayers for a sense of peace to come over the fans was lifted by more than one of those you see kneeling.

It'll pass. It's not that big of a deal. Sure, it's kind of trashy, somewhat dangerous, and everybody's talking about it as if it were Pearl Harbor, but it wasn't and it'll pass. The people who are outraged and can't move on are the same people who are always outraged about most everything, so no use worrying about it too much. We all agree it's not good to throw things. Next.

I agree. But I also want to know where was the national outcry form the media then?

If they hit Barnes with a golf ball, I imagine there would have been a pretty big outcry nationally and posters on here wouldn't be making excuses for them.

That happens almost everywhere, every Saturday during pre-game across the country.

And yes, it is encouraging.
I applaud every single athlete that shows the world where they truly place their faith and trust. Those are the ones that can handle life when the GAME of football is over and the reality of life sets in.

The players weren't the ones doing anything wrong..

Show me the fans running onto the field and praying. I'll wait.

Well since any fan running onto the field would have been stopped, there probably aren’t any. Stupid argument there bro.

Just because someone else makes a fool of themselves is no reason for our fans to do the same.
No…but dial back the sanctimonious righteous indignation Paul Finebaum edition and call it a day.

That does not matter. That is a black eye on their program. Does not justify the actions of ours. Let them wear the title of rebel rednecks.
Who remembers it? Exactly! Insert jackass Ubben article.

when was that picture taken? I see no debri on the field.
The players were jawing back and forth when ole miss left the sideline. I thought Jones was going to fight! The coaches were on the field trying to get the players away from ole miss. The ole miss players were going to their fans getting them jacked and taunting vol fans.

What a mess. You were fortunate to be able to attend. I just wish the finish had gone our way. The players are really grinding it out and the pendulum is starting to swing in Big Orange direction.

Imagine you had tickets in the lower section, and took your kids or parents to their first Vols game, and trash was pouring all over their heads. I agree the refs made some bad calls Earlier in the game,
and Lane Kiffen is a royal dkhd, but there is Zero excuse for acting this way in public. Shameful!!!

It is laughable to use the behavior of Ole Miss fans to justify any else's behavior. One should strive to be better than that and it is disappointing to realize that many Tennessee fans not only are not better than that but believe that this kind of behavior is justified.
He wasn’t justifying anything…. 🙄

The big difference is one game had ended the other one was held up. Throwing a pom pom is not the same as a golf ball. I agree both actions are dispicable.
