I'm pulling for Auburn.

If the current coaching staff were to accidentally get on the wrong plan and be sent to ND or somewhere were losing is expected I wouldnt lose any sleep. I do however still hope for a vols win.

Been a UT fan all my life---graduated from UT with my bachelors---currently attend UT in graduate school.

I'm pulling for Auburn. Why?

Because it HAS to get worse before it gets better. No question.

For me, at this point, the ideal season would be to lose every game except Alabama.

Fulmer won't go unless the **** really hits the fan.

As the old adage goes, if you can heal the symptoms but not affect the cause, then you're doing nothing.

This is the most ignorant poster since the Bammer guy several months ago.

Must be a troll or that same bammer guy. Vols fans are not this stupid.

Fulmer was done at UCLA. This is his last sesason. It would be nice he went out on a high note, for him and the program. But he is going out. And, even he will realize that's what's best when he gets this season behind him.

Nice quasi positive attitude post! Areyou also a trolling bammer?

It seems like a logical contradiction to want Fulmer to resign/leave from the program and the current UT team to win at the same time...they don't add up.

Can't remember where I found it but there was an article that came out right after the BCS National Championship win in Jan 1999 that quoted CPF as saying, effectively, when asked if he should go out on the top, "What other job could I find that pays this well?" Again, apologies for no source at this point.

If you want the program to continue its winning tradition then something has got to give. 8-5 seasons will continue for the next decade unless something radical happens.

I'm not naive enough to believe UT faithful will, simply, stop attending home games. It'd be GREAT but it isn't going to happen.

The public shifted the blame on Sanders as a result of our 5-6 season a few years back. It should be apparent by now that he was hardly to blame for mediocrity.

Florida, Georgia, and Alabama have all undergone radical coaching shifts in the past. It's time for TN.

Go Vols.

The statements are not mutually exclusive.

1. Source?
2. Sixth highest paid coach in the league, is he?

No way Fulmer coaches until he's 68!

Were you at UAB or Florida?

1. The public blamed Fulmer. Fulmer blamed Sanders.
2. 6-6 is mediocre; 5-6 is a losing season.

Florida, Georgia, and Alabama have all undergone radical coaching shifts in the past. It's time for TN.

How were any of these coaching changes radical? If anything they were logical, mainstream decisions.

Go Vols!

Get your hate straight.

Lloyd Carr did leave with class. I want the same with Fulmer. I realize he brought us a national championship and some SEC Championships but those days are long gone. No need to go over simple statistics here at all. The game has surpassed Fulmer.

that's getting awfully loose with the term friend.

Of all posters here BPV, I know you knew I had the potential to figure this out. And, you too know UCLA was a different kind of loss than those that preceeded it. It was just the final straw for me--it's all cummulative, though.

I do think you were right on a post that I thought a lot about. Something to the effect that it's just too hard to right the ship.

That post was several months ago, so it's an effective position that has staying power/influence, imo.

I still would like to see Fulmer leave on a good note and that could only be good for the program.

Agreed. We need to back our team and our school and hope for a dignified end. This is still a very young season.

I'd beg to differ regarding the "logical, mainstream decisions"---Florida hardly gave Zook anytime at all to actively recruit and bring fresh blood into the program.

I was at both UAB and Florida games. Hamilton might begin to understand the gravity of the situation when 75% of the seats are empty on game day.

Well, you know the Kool Aid drunk he was when he arrived. I always appreciate someone when they try to better themself.

The Kool Aid was great... everybody here drinks it at times. I noticed that as well. I just struggled more with my addiction.

You should be a Bammer because...

That goes for any of you "fans" who are pulling for the Vols to lose.

It is the best story... and I still love our sophomore class. A guy like Saban could win a NC with them.

I'm just busting chops. Just said in a thread that we get along just fine these days.

As to the inertia of losing, I still believe it's almost impossible to overcome without top down leadership change.

ludicrous. Meyer won with essentially the same team Zook bumbled with.
