That's good with me :good!: I just took the "delusional" post to mean only being able to see 2 possible losses is....


I don't predict because the best team doesn't always win but I will say this - I am more excited about the upcoming season than I have been in a long, long time.


Did I mention it has been a really long time? :ermm:

If we go 10-2, he very well might be.

Tennessee will continue to get better because Butch is such a fine recruiter and the Vols will have a great Talent pool. I can imagine what the expectations for 2016 will be if Tennessee is 10-3 after winning I believe the Outback Bowl. Everyone probably will(at least on Volnation)will be picking Tennessee to win the SEC East and possibly the SECCG.

Im as optimistic as the next person but we were 7 and 6 last year! 10-2 is a big leap! Yes we have talent on the field but everyone else in the SEC recruits a high level and most of them do not have as far to climb as we do. I just think we should wait and see how it goes. If things don't go as some of you are expecting this place is going to be uninhabitable! Not sure if I spelled that correctly but you get the gist. If we go 10-2 no one will be happier than me. Maybe it's been so long for us to be good, I just cant believe it till I witness it.

I've watched the Taxslayer bowl a bazillion times and I hope I didn't get a false sense of security out of that performance. The VOLS were no doubt faster everywhere and punched Iowa smack in the mouth bang-bang-bang-bang but I think they were out-coached badly too. They had a lot of meat & potatoes in their line but our VOLS were so much quicker and toward the end they were just worn out. With the more infusion of talent from our recruiting and a year's more experience I don't see where we can't compete with anybody unless we get a lot of injuries, and even then we are much deeper in talent depth-wise. I don't see us having less than 8 wins and 1st or 2nd in the east.

3Ls. Bama/Arky, UGA/Oklahoma and Auburn in the SEC title game.

That's what I hope/think. However we could easily not get the FL monkey off our back or stub our toe against Mizzou and Mauk again and lose a tight one at home to either Oklahoma or Arky and on the road to Bama plus another close loss to UGA.

Two loses would be very very nice but playing Oklahoma is never easy as they are a top ten traditional team in my eyes and stoops is pretty good outside of very important games. Arky and that run game is going to be punishing and I'm still worried about MLB and our interior DLine against a big Oline with a good game plan and scheme fit for their game. We've been close to UGA and FL recently but haven't been able to get it done and they're still going to be very talented while we will be Vandys "bowl game/ super bowl" and likely be the game to decide if UK makes a bowl. USC is going to play very very hard after the last two years and Butch owning the Spur.

i personally don't think we are back yet because back to me and these days means playoff and/or conference championship or knocking off say Bama and Oklahoma and Florida in the same year, which may happen BUT I do think this is the year anyone still clinging to hope that UT wasn't coming back is squashed and we either make ATL or just miss it and have some quality wins and turn heads against the big boys.

I know John Adams isn't always right but his article in tomorrow's paper calls Arkansas our 2nd most difficult game of the season behind Alabama. TIFWIW

It is funny how he points out that Arky is catching TN at "an opportune time," because their game comes between FL and GA. There is no way that can be considered more daunting than us catching them between A&M and Bama.

Team #119 has something to prove. I don't believe they will have a let down, on being prepared to play. We will get better and better each week, a strong start will set us up for something special. GO VOLS!

I think we have a good chance of being 5-1 going into the 3rd sat in October,with the one loss against Ga or Arky.That would be really, really nice! :crossfingers:

Im sorry but I don't know why so many people write off Georgia as a loss.
They barely have been sneaking out wins during the period when UT has been down. We are definitely on the rise now!
Yes they have a beast at RB, but I have a sneaking suspicion our DL is going to be more than happy to greet him every time he touches the ball this year. Yes he will get his yards, But our DL is going to get to eat too!.
Simply put, we are a better team than we have been fielding the last few years and we nearly stole those games before.
I think beating Georgia is not just possible, but I personally think we do it this year!

The have the potential, but the roster is still young. I heard Butch say that 64% of the roster has been in the program 1 year or less. I'm not making excuses.... Just stating the facts. Don't forget how awful the O line was.... They won't be world beaters this year even if they improve greatly.

Please note this Iowa team lost to Iowa St. (Iowa St. lost terribly to a FCS team at home)

I think we win 1 of those 3 minimum.

It will be highly suspect if we lose to any of these three teams this year:

Florida
Arkansas
Missouri

Our two deep can hang with every team in the nation. We have the best QB in the SEC and surrounded by skill. Defense is mean again. O-line will be serviceable.

Team 119 has to show up and show out, smoother than a fresh jar of Skippy.

But you're ignoring the Volnation logic that only Tennessee improves or recruits good. Every other team just stays the same or gets worse. Duh...

We predicted 8-4 or 9-3 at the end of the season. Someone said it would be 11-1 by the end of offseason because of our over expecting fan base. We're almost there guys!
