I'm not worried a bit about Tyndall...

It is called coach speak, you can't be this dense
This young guy has at various times called me dense, a senile ole fart, a geezer, a Betty white clone, you catch my drift simply because I question some of the stuff he posts. So I post my background and ask about his and instead of answering he does a LMAO tweet. I graduated from ETSU with a degree in General Science, you know the biology, chemistry, physics stuff. I retired from Eastman Chemical Company when I was 62. I retired from the United States Army Reserve in 1996 with 25 years of service at the age of 48. I graduated 5th in a class of 120 at the 3rd U.S Army Drill Sergeants School at Fort Jackson, SC. I am 42 years older than you so life experience might be thrown in. You???

I think it has more to do with people's general dislike of your sudden rigid demands of our new basketball coach after giving Cuonzo Martin a pass for 2.5 seasons, and then trying to pass that blatantly obvious difference off as an "unbiased" outlook.

My issue is that if you're gonna have standards for 1 coach why not both?

If NCAAT 1/3 years and Sweet 16 isn't gods enough for Zo to have peoples support, why is 1/3 NCAAT good enough for Tyndall?

If not landing guys who are top 100 players with a great offer list is a knock on Zo, why wouldn't it be on Tyndall as well?

Have I gone to some extremes, absolutely, but it's to counteract the complete opposite extremes some of gone to. I just don't get the double standard at play here.

Ok, you can stop right there though before the rest of your post loses credibility. You made every excuse under the sun for Martin, and I'm not even saying you were wrong to do so. I'm just saying that your pro-Zo agenda is clearly evident in your staunch demands of Tyndall, only three weeks on the job. And it is obvious that those demands are entirely correlated to what Martin did/didn't do in similar situations or timeframes.

Long story short, you gave Cuonzo Martin the benefit of doubt for nearly three years, and Tyndall doesn't get it for even three weeks, and all because you have an ax to grind because you think CCM was mistreated/underappreciated. That's not Tyndall's fault. So quit with the comparisons, the minimizing of Tyndall's career, and the conspiracy theories. I understand you liked Martin, and in your life-long quest to be right, there is at least a small part of you that would love to see this blow up in everyone's face. But give CDT the same benefit of doubt and let his plan play out. You don't have to agree with everything he does, but the comparisons and attempts to marginalize his efforts and career appear petty and fuel the notion that you simply have a pro-Zo agenda.

What I find funny is everyone wants to point to USM as the track record if this great plan, why not look at the other place he walked into and used this plan?

Won 12 games year 1, 15 games year 2 and in year 3 won 20 games and made the NCAAT for the first time.

Let me apologize in advance if my hopes for Tennessee are greater than that.

I think its stuff like this that has people jumping all over you. Lets be honest, the only thing that matters is getting to the tournament and how well you do once you get there. In your above quote you are obviously trying to put our new coach down yet ignore the end result as being the same as Martins.

Besides that, the chest thumping "I knew 4 days before everyone else" routine is bound to rub people the wrong way, right?

I'm giving Tyndall the benefit of the doubt, he'll get 3-4 years minimum of support from me barring some epic failure.

My posts are pointing out that many didn't give the previous guys even 2 years before calling for his head, but wanna talk about giving this guy 3-4 years.

You don't see the difference?

If people wanna blast me when I share info and tell me I'm FOS only for it to happen, yea I'm gonna remind them, and don't much care how it runs them.

Yep took 3 years to return a team to the NCAA that had n't smelt in 25 years and won 4 games the season before he got there.
Epic failure.

Thank you :hi:

Yeah I see the difference, and no I don't think it's fair, but I'm not beating my chest and dragging CDT through the mud for every failure in his career as some sort of validation for the previous staff. CCM and co. had their warts as well, but you seemingly want to gloss over them, and at the same time, minimize every accomplishment that CDT has managed at USM or MSU.

We get it already though. Its the same as playing sports when you hear people say " act like youve been there before".

How about just giving him HIS FIRST GAME?

Like I said, I'm going the opposite extreme of the "let's build this guy a statue" crowd.

So, two wrongs make a right? Why not just be the bigger man and let it play out?

And no one is suggesting to build the guy a statue or even give him a free upgrade to business class. The hyperbole is ridiculous.

BTO your opinion is not the only one and it's not the only one that is right...you think you have all the answers, knows everything about the UT Baskteball team when you just keep copying and pasting VQ info and basing your opinions on that.
You don't have all the answers, you don't know it all so quit acting like it.

Yet no one sees any evidence of this so called support.

Do you want me to post my ticket stubs to the games? Take pictures for you from the RTL? Post a picture of the signed basketball I have from DT?

What is it you'd like?

I've seen quite a few posts saying he's the guy to lead us to the promised land

Well I'd hope you're smart enough to understand it to be blind optimism rather than a preemptive suggestion to cast him in bronze outside TBA, but whatever.

No one is suggesting that he definitively is a future HOF coach who will undoubtedly take us to heights unseen. No one can say that with any conviction or proof.

Actually, giving our new coach a touch of credit where it is due would paint that picture Or if that doesn't work perhaps just not going out of your way to diminish his previous accomplishments might be a start.

The fact that you have a signed CDT basketball at this point is borderline creepy.

Correct, but it's their opinion which is fine. It's my opinion that this method of roster filing won't win at this level.

1. I've given credit to him, if you need links they're there.

2. I call it like I see it, sorry.

3. Not sure why it's creepy. Someone in the AD who gave me 1 from Pat, 1 from Bruce and 1 from Martin gave me this one from Tyndall. Not sure which part is creepy, but ok.
